Vegetarian? vegan? neither?!

Question:

Vegetarian? vegan? neither?

im not a vegetarian or a vegan, and i want to know what the benefits are of all of them, the disadvantages, and which group of those people are healthiest? im thinking of trying to be a vegetarian or vegan for a little (probably a week) just to see if i could live like that. help please?! thanks.

Answers:

Both choices are very healthy if done properly. If you are eating a wide variety of food than you will be getting all the nutrients you need.

Since you are just starting out and unsure, you may want to try vegetarian instead of vegan. As great as being vegan is, it is more restrictive and may give you the false impression that you can't eat and enjoy anything(since your recipes and food supply at home will be limited)

Make sure you do your research to be sure you have some healthy recipes to cook(trust me there are many). Purchase some snacks that are vegetarian friendly, as some items contain animal ingredients.

If you are not prepared than its going to seem as if there is nothing to eat, etc. My first try at becoming vegetarian(a few years ago) was short, I lasted about 2 days because I hadn't prepared, I didn't know what to cook and I hadn't gone shopping. Remember that with anything the first few days may be rough because you are learning.
