What should I cook for a vegan dinner party?!
What should I cook for a vegan dinner party?
I'm quite a keen cook but most of my recipes have just gone out the window due to my new found veganism. I'm throwing myself in the deep end by cooking for 8 friends on Friday.
I've got another friend helping, so I'm thinking maybe two or three dishes, or one main dish with a few side bits.
SO...any good recipes?

Here's a really good easy recipe for a vegan Mexican lasagna.

The only thing I would do different is add vegetarian Morningstar crumbles with taco seasoning on top of the beans. Also, if you can't find Tofutti sour cream, just regular canned refried beaks work well insetad of the black beans.
I'd also get some chips and make some fresh salsa to accompany it. That would be really good.
If you're looking for a good vegan dessert that's not expensive, you should make this chocolate cake. It takes just an hour. I make it all the time and no one can guess it's vegan. Use coffee instead of water though. Serve it with Tofutti vanilla ice cream and it's the best! It's also really good by itself too.

Edit:
For another answerer...vegan diets do not lack in protein. I've never met a protein deficient vegan unless they weren't eating any food at all. Vegans do not need to constantly eat beans or anything to get their daily amount of protein. People should do their research. I'm vegan and have been for 6 months and all this time the worst thing that has ever happened to me was that I had some menstrual cramps, which I always get anyway.
