I've started to lose weight. Is it because I've stopped eating meat?!

Question:

I've started to lose weight. Is it because I've stopped eating meat?

Well, about six months ago or so, I stopped eating meat. So I guess I'm a vegetarian, but I still eat eggs and milk stuff. Lacto-ovo, right? Anyways, at the time, I weighed about 90 pounds. Now, I'm at about 83. But the thing is, I think I should be gaining weight, right? If I'm 12 and 5'2"? So, is it because of protein? Or like something else?

Answers:

It is not because you have stopped eating meat. The only way to gain and lose weight is by calorie intake or the lack there of. Also the amount of calories the you burn up or do not use within a day. At your age you really should seek the advice of a doctor before cutting meat out of your diet entirely. At least the doctor can give you the suppliments (vitamins) that your body needs at your age and at your development stage. You really should seek out someone to assist you if you are serious about cutting meat out of your diet totally. Good luck
