Do vegans get hayfever?!

Question:

Do vegans get hayfever?

I used to suffer from really bad hayfever... even the strongest tablets, nose spray and eye drops wouldn't help and it put me in the foulest mood all day. But since I became vegan it's totally dissapeared? What's going on?

Is there a link between a non-vegan diet and allergies?

bbq... the human brain actually evolved from having to hunt for meat and I'm thankful for that but we aren't cavepeople anymore and we don't hunt for our meat we grow it on animals like they're machines. My brain will not evolve any further by merely eating meat and I believe it actually benefits from a vegan diet.

That's my point here... my hayfever disappeared since becoming a vegan which is a good thing!

Answers:

Dairy products increase mucus secretions- so this may will be the reason you get less nose-running, sneezes etc. Also, I am assuming that as a vegan you are very conscious of healthy eating and eat a lot of natural home-made food and obviously a lot of fruit/vegetables/pulses etc. Eating a healthy diet increases you bodies resistance to allergies and also illnesses. So keep up the good work! I'm only veggie myself and never catch any germs going round, but i do get awful hay-fever, so am now working cutting out dairy products too. xxx
