If killing animals for food is justified then whats wrong in being a Cannibal?!

Question:

If killing animals for food is justified then whats wrong in being a Cannibal?

I had posted a question on cruelity to animals for consumption and insensitivity of people who consume them.A majority of carnivores forwarded vague & unreasonable arguments in support of cruelity. This question is aimed at them. Not to go far,in India everyone is aware of the "nithari killings" when accused Surinder Kohli confessed to having developed a taste for small children's flesh. He used to sexually exploit them and kill them after which he stored their body parts and cooked them over oven for self consumption. Was he not right in choosing what food he took? Why should he be held for such acts? Why does the very society which supports such acts of cruelity towards mute and innocent animals shout hoarse over such cannibalism. After all people like kohli has every right to choose what they like as food. Please explain carnivores on this earth.

Answers:

Don't animals feel pain ?
Don't they run away when people try to kill them ?
Don't they have families like us ?
Are they willingly becoming food for you ?
When u enter a temple, do u take meat inside ?
And if God lives within us, will he appreciate that we turn our stomachs into graveyard of animals who cried in pain while they were being butchered ?

A wonderful and well known poem by George Bernard Shaw

Living Graves

We are the living graves of murdered beasts,
Slaughtered to satisfy our appetites.
We never pause to wonder at our feasts,
If animals, like men, can possibly have rights.
We pray on Sundays that we may have light,
To guide our footsteps on the path we tread.
We're sick of war, we do not want to fight -
The thought of it now fills our hearts with dread,
And yet - we gorge ourselves upon the dead.

Like carrion crows we live and feed on meat,
Regardless of the suffering and the pain
we cause by doing so, if thus we treat
defenceless animals for sport or gain,
how can we hope in this world to attain,
the PEACE we say we are so anxious for.
We pray for it o'er hecatombs of slain,
to God, while outraging the moral law,
thus cruelty begets its offspring - WAR.
