Intolerant towards my diet?!
Intolerant towards my diet?
my dad keeps forgetting i have given up meat, and we go through the same 'God put animals on this planet for us to eat' type of thing, there are just billions of accusations i could throw at that statement
but you know, i can't because parents can never be wrong no matter what...
i am not pale, strong for my size, thin and not anorexic, i actually feel more awake and alert during the day.
I completely understand that animals were apparently for us to eat... which doesnt really explain why there are animal conservationists but oh well... but our ansestors were cavemen that mainly ate plants because they were easier to catch than animals who could run quite fast, meat was simply a luxury and nowadays we eat much more than we should
ok i'm getting off track here...
is it morally correct to be veggie?
Answers:
I guess it depends on what your morals are. Eveyone has different morals. Your dad said that God put animals on this planet for a reason, and he is correct. But in saying that, God's reason wasn't for us to murder and torture them. Man didn't hunt and kill animals until about 10,000 years ago, when arrowheads were invented. And even then, animals weren't held against their will to be forcefed hundreds of chemicals to make them grow super huge. If we grew at the rate of a chicken does at Tyson, we would weight 387 pounds by the time we were 2 years old. Everyone tries to justify thier actions, but eating meat now a days can not be justified. Even if you aren't sympathetic towards animals, health reasons should be reason enough to become vegetarian. Just make sure you get PLENTY of B12, which is the only vitamin veg's tend to lack. I buy "nutritional (not brewer's) yeast." It tastes a lot like cheese and you can sprinkle it on pasta or salad. B12 is also found in most soy milks... Good luck to you and God bless you for saving over 100 animals a year by not consuming meat.
