Is that coffee bean harder or soya bean harder?!

Question:

Is that coffee bean harder or soya bean harder?

I want to buy a grinder which process soya bean to powder. I cant find soya bean grinder and i was told it was heavy duty machine. So i try to use coffee bean grinder to grind soya bean. Im afraid that soya bean is harder than coffee bean so it will damage the coffee grinder very fast when i am starting to use it. Please help me. Thanks

Answers:

Don't use a burr type grinder, use the cheaper blade type and you'll not have a problem with unroasted soybeans. If you grind roasted soybeans the only problem will be that you get a film of oil inside the grinder that can't be washed out.

If you're wanting to grind the soybeans to make a coffee substitute you can toast the ground beans.

It's easier to toast the ground beans in a skillet over medium high heat (stirring *constantly*) until the grounds are just as dark as the type of coffee grounds you prefer.
