Questions for Vegans..support Peta?
Just wondering since I am a new Vegan and becoming more active with PETA, if this is the norm or not. Please no nasty PETA bashing.

This is what I posted for another person who asked the same question.
The anti-peta campaigns were started by the meat and dairy industry. Yes, PETA does have some radical members but that is the risk taken with having open membership that allows anyone to become a member. A lot of these people aren't even members of PETA but use the name as an icon to give the charity bad publicity and try to ruin their credibility. The recent animal euthanasia propoganda is false. PETA does not house or provide any veterinary services to any animals but financially supports rescue groups, shelters, and spay and neuter programs as well as educates the public on current issues and how they can help through peaceful protests, letter-writing, being a compassionate consumer, and humane health habits. Some animals that are suffering from illness or injury that are housed in the shelters that PETA supports may determine it is necessary to euthanise an animal to end it's suffering but this can hardly be considered cruel. I support them completely and apparently so does the US government or they would not still be operational as a non-profit charity
