What are the easiest recipes for kids to make by themselves?!

Question:

What are the easiest recipes for kids to make by themselves?

Answers:

I had a kid's cookbook when I was little...let me see if I can remember any of them.

You can mix cream cheese and chopped spinach in a blender for a great sandwich. Put the spinach (use fresh) in first, use the "pulse" button to chop it up. Then add the cream cheese and mix on low. Just use however much you want for the sandwich. Don't forget to make sure the lid is on the blender! After it's all mixed up, spread on toast. You can also add some slices of tomato or anything else you might like.

You can make an easy pizza in the microwave with hamburger buns. Just toast it in the toaster, add a little spaghetti or pizza sauce and whatever toppings you like and microwave for a few seconds - just long enough to heat the sauce and melt the cheese (if you put cheese on it).

Peanut butter sandwiches get more interesting when you add things like bananas, chocolate chips, cream cheese, or whatever else you think might taste good.

You can make a great fruit salad with as many different fruit pieces as you like, topped with whipped topping or yogurt and some nuts.

"Bug Salad" is really cute. Take half of a canned pear, use a couple of raisins or chocolate chips for "eyes" and carrot curls for "antennae" to make a bug.

In a similar vein you can make "Butterfly Bites." Take a piece of celery and spread cream cheese or peanut butter inside the celery stick, then take 2 pretzels and place them in the middle of the celery stick. Add raisins for the body and little pretzel sticks for the antennae.

You can make your own trail mix with raisins, peanuts, M&Ms (or other candy) and a wholesome cereal.

You can also make some really fun edible play dough. Here's the recipe:

2 1/4 cups peanut butter
6 T honey*
some cocoa
nonfat dry milk

Mix it all together until it becomes the consistency of play dough. You can add some food coloring to if you like. But not red, because red food coloring has an odd taste.

*Molasses or syrup works too if you're allergic to honey like me. Don't use black strap molasses though; it won't taste good.

That's all I can remember right now. I hope it's enough to get you started!
