How should I go about becoming a vegetarian?!

Question:

How should I go about becoming a vegetarian?

I am a 16 year old girl, I love animals, I also love McDonalds. I want to cut meat out of my diet, and still eat healthy. Do you have any suggestions on how to go about doing this?

Answers:

Good for you! You are on your way to a more compassionate lifestyle. You can start by cutting out meat from one meal a day (I started with lunch). Then, two meals and then three. You can do baby steps - like start with cutting out red meat, then chicken, then fish, too. Try meat substitutes like Morningstar Farms products. They have veggie burgers, sausage, and tofu. Feel free to eat cheese in place of meat for awhile too.

Make sure you read up on nutrition, but you really can't see poor health until about 10 months or more of being vegetarian. This is an excellent starter guide for you: http://www.pcrm.org/health/veginfo/vsk/i...

Good luck!
