What is the easiest way to make tofu at home?!

Question:

What is the easiest way to make tofu at home?

Answers:

The easiest way is to buy 'raw' soymilk from an asian grocery and simmer it with a dash of nigari to make the curds. You can also use soy protein powder available at any health food store and many grocers (Bob's Red Mill and Arrowhead Mills are two common brands) and follow the instructions on the package to make soy milk, then simmer with a dash of epsom salt to form tofu curds. You then can use a sieve or colander to strain away the excess liquid. Either method takes less than an hour to make fresh tofu!

You do NOT and cannot make tofu from Okara!! Okara is the residue from turning soybeans into soymilk. You can make other wonderful things with it but tofu ain't one of them. That answerer is just trying to con you into buying an expensive appliance, or considering how many times they've spewed weston price anti-soy B S maybe they're hoping you'll give up on tofu.

If you want to know easy ways to use prepared tofu the easiest is just to eat it like Dolly Peanutte said! It's also really easy to stir some chocolate syrup (or cocoa and sweetener) into it for quick pudding!
