Do vegans think honeybees get the day off if they decline to consume honey?!

Question:

Do vegans think honeybees get the day off if they decline to consume honey?

I can't really understand why some people have an ethical problem with consuming honey. The bees don't seem to have anything better to do and they make a lot more than they need themselves. Isn't refusing to eat honey based on a Walt Disney sort of mentality where busy bees get to read a good book instead of collecting nectar?

Answers:

Besides...I doubt this is a serious question - more a "bait the vegan" type post. But if it is serious, then the easiest answer is simply that honeybees do get killed during the process, which is against the vegan ethos.
