Walls Ice Cream?!

Question:

Walls Ice Cream?

I Just bought 2 tubs of Carte d'or and as the label didnt state, I thought I'd check on their website if it is suitable for vegetarians, the answer is misleading. It says on the site it isn't suitable for 'strict vegetarians' (as it can contain rennet in the whey) but there is no such thing. You either are or aren't
Here is the definition of a vegetarian "A vegetarian does not eat any meat, poultry, game, fish, shellfish or crustacea, or slaughter by-products" Slaughter by-products = e.g. rennet. Fine, their product is not suitable, fair enough I'll throw it away and wont buy it in future. However what I object to is their use of the term 'strict vegetarian' as it is misleading.
I've got no problem with people who only eat fish, or don't eat meat for health reasons, but they are not vegetarians.

Answers:

Aren't Wall's linked to Mars? ...remember all that debacle earlier this year when they said their chocolate was OK if you weren't a 'strict' veggie. Much as I hate it.... I made a decision then not to buy anything related to Mars (shame... malteasers are wonderful).

I think that a number of non-veggies don't understand the concept of vegetarianism and never will. The best thing to do is label check.
