What are some better ways to live vegetarian and understand the consequences of my actions?!

Question:

What are some better ways to live vegetarian and understand the consequences of my actions?

I became Vegetarian recently, after picking up a pamphlet on the mistreatment of animals in the industry. but I still eat eggs & milk. how is this a problem? right now i'm using power generated by natural resources which are polluting the atmosphere. when I throw out plastic materials they go to a landfill where they'll sit for eternity. At the concert where I picked up the pamphlet, the band (although activists) had ridden hundreds of miles in a bus to get there. Trees had to be chopped down to even make the pamphlets. Even as I type this, i'm becoming less and less certain of weather or not i believe in this. We shouldn't destroy our world, but Is there an alternative? Why do you have this lifestyle without being a hypocrite because you live in an air-conditioned home?

I mean, how are we supposed to tell starving people in Africa that its wrong to eat meat? and just in case you're wondering, i'm not attacking the movement. Its just that it doesn't make sense to me. If you can answer my questions, i'll happily rejoin it.

Answers:

Not everyone can save everything, but everyone can do a little to help with all of those problems and it WILL make a difference in the long run. There is not one person who is perfect in their search to help the planet. It's not logical in this modern world, not currently.
