Silk soy milk?!

Question:

Silk soy milk?

When I first tried it 5 years ago it had a "beany" taste.

Tonight I had it straight and it seemed to have the taste AND after-taste of whole milk(as I can remember it). WTF?!?!

Is it me or has Dean foods done something creepy to soy milk?

Additional Details

Dean foods is the distributor of most cow's milk in the US and they currently own SILK.

I don't have any paranoid suspicions of anyone putting cow's milk in it.

OH NOES!! What if they are collecting some of the pus form the cow's milk and adding it to the soy milk but they don't have to put it on the label because pus isn't regulated by the FDA/USDA as a food additive/ingredient?

Answers:

I've heard they're using what amounts to a vacuum distillation process to remove the beany flavored/scented volatiles from the 'milk' and then replacing them with vegan sourced natural flavorings that emulate dairy volatiles. The exact details of what they've done is (of course) a trade secret, but that's what the 'industry scuttlebutt' says<G>.

I don't know if that's creepy or not (to me it isn't), but I do know that I don't like the taste of Silk anymore<g>.
