How would you go about mailing fresh Habanero peppers to a person w/in the US?!

Question:

How would you go about mailing fresh Habanero peppers to a person w/in the US?

If I were to-if it is allowed, mail vegetables/fruits, how would I go about doing that? What kind of special packaging would I need? and how fresh would it be once it is delivered?

Answers:

If you are in the US and mailing in the US there are state by state restrictions. State that have a high ag industry like California, Georgia and Florida typically have more restrictions. If not to a high ag state then most of the time its fine just make sure the veggie is clean, free of parisites, excessive dirt and wrapping in plastic is a good idea. Over night for veg is the best idea so the contents have the best chance. Finally if you are outside the *continential* USA and trying to send produce it is 100% not allowed unless using commercial channels. (If you are outside the US and the produce is sent through standard mail it will get stopped in customs and destroyed to prevent any risk of contamination of a pathogen that is not in the mainland US)
