This is for vegans only?!
This is for vegans only?
hi im 15 years but i've been a non-meat eater for 2 years. I don't class my self as a vegetarian because i eat fish, milk cheese etc. everything apart from meat and eggs. This is only because my mum makes me. I personally don't believe in eating anything that comes from an anmial.
Thats why i want to become a vegan.
What can and can't i eat ? And how do i hide it from my mum ?
Answers:
you need to educate your mum about how healthy a balanced vegan diet is. Find some source of reliable info i.e. on the web or even better, like someone suggested, a school nurse to show your mum the real facts. A lot of people belive that animal sources are the only source of protein, but any dietician worth their salt now knows that in fact, plant protein is every bit as good, if not better! Also, vegans are more likely to eat more fruit/veg. Its a fact that animal products are proven to contribute to all sorts of ailments - heart attacks, strokes, cancers and more. These campaigns you see advertised telling you that milk/meat/cheese/whatever is good for you - that is not sponsored by dieticians, its sponsored by the people who sell these foods for profit! Don't be too pushy with you mum, do your reasearch, stay cool and you'll have more chance of bringing her round to the idea if she sees that its actually better for you not to eat dairy and fish as long as your diet is balanced - tofu, beans, pulses, soya, soya milk/yoghurt/cheese, nuts, seeds, grains (bread etc) and lots and lots of fruit/veg.
