Why is everyone who doesn't eat a lot of meat wanting the title of vegetarian?!

Question:

Why is everyone who doesn't eat a lot of meat wanting the title of vegetarian?

i used to be a vegetarian. i didn't eat anything that was the flesh of another animal.
the only animal products i did eat were cheeses; milk and eggs but only in baked goods. i didn't even eat gelatin.

Carnivore: root Carne - meat.
Vegetarian: root Vegetable

even though i do eat meat now, i dont' eat much at all. i never have it at home, i eat completely vegetarian food all the time, but i'm not a vegetarian.

so my question is...people who dont' eat red meat, or white meat, or only eat fish...why do you keep wanting to be called a vegetarian? it's not like you get a prize, or you get paid.

if you only eat vegetables and red meat...would you consider yourself a vegetarian? o_0

hey andrew...maybe you should do some research, or living more like it. cos go out there and meet vegetarians or go to a peta rally and see how they react to your view.
oh and Vegans..(which you called youself) dont' eat, purchase, use, wear or involve themselves with any animal product, from any type of animal. no leather, no furs, no eggs, no dairy. -so- there could never be anything such as a Lacto Vegan.
vegetarianism has been around longer than the fashion of it. meet some indians, or the hare krsna...
they dont' eat animals, because they're vegetarian.

Honestly, I think that if a person does not eat ANY type of meat (all animals included) then they are vegetarian. When you only eat meat "sometimes" or only a certain kind, you loose that title because then your not truly a vegetarian. There are other names for the other kinds of restrictive diets. (pollotarians for instance only consume chicken meat)

As for why these people "say" they are vegetarian, it must be because it makes then feel like they're more admirable. Because they have the willpower to not eat meat. (But it really is sad that they feel like they have to lie.) I'll admit that I DO admire the people at my work who are vegetarians while the rest of their family isn't. Shows that they are strong in their beliefs. Even inspired me to do a little bit of research on the matter and consider making the change myself.
