Why do you become a vegan or vegetarian and why is killing animals wrong but killing plants ok?!

Question:

Why do you become a vegan or vegetarian and why is killing animals wrong but killing plants ok?

Science has proven that plants "feel pain", though not the same as animals. Some plants recoil from fire and when parts of it are cut. That's ok?

As you requested:

I'm sure this scientist isn't on your list of acceptable scientists......as none that disagree with you will be. You can research more yourself if you'd like. I've done more than what's required of the asker already.

Since I know you won't even look at the link:

"Wildon has published evidence of an electrical signalling system
in plants similar to the epithelial conduction system found in
several "lower" animals (NATURE 360:62-65; 1992); others have
published evidence of intra-plant chemical signalling systems and
have even found intriguing indications that plants may even signal
to each other (an interesting lay review can be found in Science
News, Dec. 22/29, 1990, pp. 408-410)."

Seems pretty clear it backs up what I said. I'll take a scientist over YA overbearance any day.

You aren't arguing with what I said. You're arguing with what you imagine I mean.

Answers:

It's all relative. Personally, I eat either of them. And sometimes I feel like being a vegetarian and sometimes an ominivore. It's good to be whatever you want to be.
