I got some takeaway dinner the other night at a local indian restaurant, they also have an area where you take a dish to a bay-marie (sp) and you can fill your container up with what you want, I explained to the lady working what I can and can't eat, and gave her my container to fill for me with all suitable stuff as I thought it would be easier, anyway she did a good job because when I got home she had put this lovely eggplant and zucchini curry in the container, that was in a red/maroon syrupey sauce.. it was soo delish, the sauce was very sweet (almost dessert like) but really hot and chilly like at the same time, I wish I knew what it could have been so i can try and replicate it at home..
Does anyone know what type of Indian curry this may have been??

the sauce was clear, not cloudy it looked almost like a dark rasberry syrup

Sounds like the dish that you ate was Punjabi, not Indian. I found a recipe that might be close...it doesn't have zucchini, but I am sure you could add some if you wanted to. Here's the link: http://www.ivu.org/recipes/indian-veg/pu...
