Question:

Is there a range of vegan foods in tescos?tofu etc?

im a student so money is tight so can anyone give me some tips on how to save my money and still have a good diet?

Answers:

can i just say... the first answer... WHAT A KNOB. now onwards

I haven't been able to get to a tesco but considering how the forums talk about them i don't think they have a very good range.

No doubt they'll have a good veggie section like most places do and i expect they'll have some tofu there.

I usually go to Sainsbury's, it's closer and like tesco they label some of their suitable for vegan products, but like tesco it's not consistant, on many of their products that are suitable for vegans it simply says vegetarian. I think they're worrying about contamination or maybe they're just targeting?

As for saving money, the best advice i can give is plan your meals, eg... you buy a brocoli for a meal, make sure to put it in somthing the next day too... also make sauces and stuff in bulk and freeze!! a 'budget' vegan should defo have some supplements too, i use these...

That's about 3 months of suppliments for £4.99 not bad, plus you're giving money to the vegan society, who are the guys trying to make life as a vegan consumer easier.

here are some links with reguards to the main question
