It's vegans that don't eat animal byproducts. Vegetarians don't eat meat.?!

Question:

It's vegans that don't eat animal byproducts. Vegetarians don't eat meat.?

Do you agree with that statement? I dont.

If you dont eat cows but eat rennet what good is that? The cow still has to be killed for you to get your food. Vegetarian cheese is cheese that is rennet free. Another example is gelatin, something has to be killed to get that, how is that vegetarian like?
So what do you think?

My question was do you consider people who do not eat meat but do eat animal byproducts eg rennet vegetarian?

And yes rennet is gotton from a dead animal Natural calf rennet is extracted from the inner mucosa of the fourth stomach chamber (the abomasum) of young calves. These stomachs are a by-product of veal production.

Answers:

Vegetarians do not eat meat OR slaughter by-products like gelatin and rennet. Vegans eat no animal products whatsoever, whether or not they require slaughter.

Some people eschew meat for health reasons as opposed to animal rights reasons; for these people, gelatin and rennet may not be such a consideration. I personally do not think they are truly vegetarian.
