religions won't eat pig/pork as they eat some things other than vegetables if necessary ! But I don't understand why we don't eat horse in the U.K.,as they are totally vegetarian like cows.Why not ?

Jenny84.We don't nomally eat meat-eaters like dogs,Carrion-eating birds etc.as meat rots in the gut and can spread disease unlike vegetation.

It's a cultural thing. Horses, like dogs, were not considered food animals because they had other uses. Your question illustrates the hypocrisy of meat-eaters who think some animals are OK to eat.
