Think of going veg, help?
Ive been doing research on going veg. When I can I substitute meat for soy or tofu. I really want to go veg but the thing is, I dont eat vegetables; long story short I was manipulated when I was small to eat them (force feeding) and now every time I try to eat them, it comes right back up and I get very anxious.
I would LOVE to eat them, I just cant..yet. This is a horrible road block!! and soon after I go veg I want to go Vegan..What I want to know is; does anyone know how to diminish this problem of the veggies coming up and calming myself down?
It would mean sooo much to me:]
p.s Ive already ordered a bunch of peta2 starter kits

I would still like to eat chicken and/or fish for protein..are there companies that use cruelty free methods??

If you want to eat them, that's fine, but you wouldn't be a vegetarian, just a person who has decided to eat less meat or not eat red meat.
As for the vegetable thing, whether you become vegetarian or not, you are going to need to work through this. A person can be healthy without meat, but not without vegetables. Since your issue with vegetables is based on psychological trauma, it might be best dealt with in therapy, either with a therapist who can help you talk through your feelings until you feel like you've come to terms with your bad experiences, or with a behavioral therapist who will work on desensitizing you to veggies so you don't have a bad reaction to them (it's what they do for phobias, exposing you to them a little step at a time.) Do you eat things like spaghetti sauce? If so, you can do what some parents will do for picky toddlers and "hide" extra veggies in tomato sauce; steam some broccoli, chop it up really finely and stir it into your sauce. Maybe you'd accept veggies better if you grew some of your own; they might just seem more "innocent" that way. Just an idea. You can substitue soy and tofu for meat anytime.
Be sure to invest in a multi-vitamin and speak to your doctor before hand.
PETA will tell you how to be Vegan, not Vegetarian. So be careful. Unless you want that =)
Best of luck! Here two great sources about going vegetarian:

I wish you the best of luck! how about a yummy vegetable soup or veggies with dip, do you think you could tolerate them in that form?
