I need to find NO-MEAT protein foods that are quick to prepare and portable?
I really try hard not to eat meat, my one daughter too (my other daughter and my son are interested in vegetarian lifestyle, so I have to prepare two kinds of meals.) What to take to work in a bag?

PS Hamburgers make you fat! I like to take a can of black beans (make sure they're made w/o meat products) and season it up with some tomatoes, garlic, onions, and whatever else sounds good. Make some rice and add a tortilla (make sure they're not made w/lard) and some tomatoes and shredded spinach (way healthier than lettuce). Voila! you have a quick, easy, healthy and very tasty meal that is good hot or cold!
Cottage cheese is also a good source of protein, as is tofu. I like to wrap firm tofu in some paper towels and put something sort of heavy on it. Leave it in the fridge overnight, and you'll get most of the water out of it. This will help it hold together better when you go to slice it. I use it with stir fry, in soups and even use the soft tofu to make fruit smoothies in the blender (add a little vanilla and maybe a touch of sugar to taste) (use frozen fruit to get it extra cold).
I'd like to recommend Laurel's Kitchen (http://astore.amazon.com/chamspage/detai... It's absolutely the best vegetarian resource out there, AND it has lots of great recipes! Source(s):
I was a vegetarian from ages 12-25. protien bars?? would that work? Screw being vegetarian, grab a hamburger and eat it. Eating meat is only natural for humans. Animals do it. Just eat meat. Canada sux. There are no complete protein foods that are non-meat. To get complete proteins, you need to combine several foods that, together, will provide complete protein.
You do not say whether or not you eat eggs and milk products (many vegetarians do since they are natural products of the chicken or cow and do not harm them).
If so, deviled eggs are a great source of protein as are cottage cheese.
For lunches, fix your favorite beans and a pot of brown rice. Season with lots of pepper and your favorite spices. Take to work along with a small container of salsa.

Slice and roast some veggies like yellow squash, zucchini, eggplant, etc. Make a sandwich from a good whole grain bread, some mayo, the roasted veggies, and a slice of sweet onion.
Roast portobello mushrooms stuffed with a mixture of cooked brown rice, onions, garlic, and seasonings. Try the theveggietable.com

I hope it works out for you! egg whites You can get Clif and Luna Bars for snacks. You can make sandwiches from veggie deli slices (from Tofurkey or Lightlife). Yves has microwaveable lunch bowls in the refrigerator section.
You might want to check out the Vegan Lunchbox blog to see what a mom makes for her son to take to school. hamburgers make you fat? thanks for raising my self esteem. by the way you're full of ****, there is something called moderation. by not going to bk everyday and buying 98% lean beef, there is virtually nothing harmful with eating meat products such as hamburgers.

or nuts and seeds
you can make your own baked nuts and seeds
its better then what you get from the store Another redshirt, Mary Redshirt? O.o
beans and lentils are the best source of protein, though beans in particular are the best. Black eyed peas, kidney beans, and black beans tie for the top place, I think. You could make vegan chili with kidney beans, incorporate black eyed peas into salsa, or make some black bean soup. Just a few ideas. You can easily purchase in the frozen food section of most mainline supermarkets, Vegetarian meat. Try morning star products. They have pre-packaged frozen Vegetarian meat. Some stores carry Wham, and Bologno.
