vegetables?
Answers: We don't have a backyard for a real garden. So I grow herbs in old wine barrels on the patio. Nothing like having basil, parsley, sage, rosemary, and chives on demand! And so much cheaper than the supermarket! Yeah I have a huge garden at my backyard and I just moves to my new house last year and planted most of the vegetables. This year the garden is filled with fresh veggies and people in my neighborhood come to my garden to get some fresh vegetables and I also get money from them. You are 100% right everyone should grow their own garden. yes it is an awesome idea i've been thinking about it u save alot of money! That's a great idea - if everyone could afford to buy land for gardening. Even planter boxes aren't possible in some places, since vandals or thieves often steal them. Gardening tends to be something that's possible for people who are living comfortably.
I certainly couldn't have a garden where I live, though I have a nasturtium in a pot for decorative edible flowers. Yes, this year we grew three kinds of tomatoes, zucchini, green beans, snap peas, carrots, radishes, a wide variety of greens, onions, green onions, cucumbers, brocolli, hot peppers, bell peppers, chives, a bunch of herbs, raspberries and strawberries. I live in a one-room apartment with a teeny-tiny kitchen. If I had more space, or even a balcony, I'd try growing something. But I don't. WOW..you really mean everyone? Well if you do, I'll start loading dirt onto my 23rd floor balconies around my condo and start growing stuff! My neighbors will love me!!! Oh thank you for a WONDERFUL idea that EVERYONE can participate in. Yes, we have mulitple gardens, a little orchard, raspberry bushes, and a little grape abor, all packed together in the back yard. We also have a few bluberry bushes, but they havent been doing well. the deeer have been really hard on a lot of things. My balcony is growing all sorts of herbs and lettuce varieties.
Not to mention chillies, capsicum and peas.
thats weak mr meat. excuse excuses.
Your absolutely right, everybody should grow plants.
Put back some of the oxygen they use up. I have a brown thumb, I think. I've tried just growing flowers on my balcony of my apartment and ended up with dead plants. :(
I would love to have a garden of my own, but I don't have a controlled enough environment for the plants to keep them alive. My porch gets almost constant blazing sunlight during the summer and is subject to all of the elements in winter.
I do, however, support local growers by purchasing nearly all of my fruits and veggies from the local farmer's market. :) i wish i could start my own garden... but unfortunately, i live in an apartment with no balcony so that's outta the question. when the fam and i start looking for a place to live, a big backyard is definitely one of my criteria! Well, the first time I tried to grow something we got a SERIOUS heat wave. We stayed above 90 degrees for three weeks. Everything died. *sniff sniff*
I tried to grow a green pepper plant, and tomatoes. I didn't work out so well. I will try again next year. I will have my fresh pesticide free veggies. LOL
I think everyone should have their own garden too. I do, i agaree, everyone can grow something, even if you live in apt
just plant one tomato seed or any see in good soil and water it everyother day, it feels good to watch something grow
and it's the greatest to have free food, with no chemicals, and no transport, and very little work involed
i grow tomato in the back yard, I harvested tooooo many tomatos, they are frozen in the freezer now
