What is a good vegetarian soup?!

Question:

What is a good vegetarian soup?

Answers: Recipe or canned?

Amy's Kitchen makes a soup called 'No chicken Noodle"..it's delicious! I also love tomato soup. i like cream of broccoli, it is veggy but not vegan tomato basil Anything with a tomato base is good. I made a stew a few weeks ago, with bread bowls and all, which came out quite well. Crushed tomatos and tomato paste, some vegetable bouillion, potatos, zucchini, yellow squash, green and garbanzo beans, peppers, onions....on and on, etc. etc. homemade: lentil, any beans and veggies...just don't but the canned crap. chock-full of preservatives, refined sugar, and salt. Black bean soup! Anything in the Vegetarian soup book by "Deborah Madison."
There are three great Black Bean Soups that are delicious. I like making a chunky tomato soup. All it takes is a can of store-bought tomato soup, some mushrooms, parsley leaves, a bit of lemon juice (for that added kick), curry powder, garlic and celery salt (to taste). Moderation is the key. In other words, don't overspice it and don't make it too watery with the lemon juice. (I like using raw mushrooms in it - don't ask why.) Then I just heat it up in the microwave for about a minute. Simple and good. =)

This is only a mere favorite soup of mine. Hope it helps. ^^ A local restaurant, The Vegetable Garden, makes a fantastic wonton soup.

Annie Chun's makes a good udon soup bowl mix.

www.vegweb.com has soup recipes.

I prefer thin consomme-type soups with a few noodles and veggies tossed in.
