At McDonalds, do they cook the fries in the same oil as the chicken nuggets??
My friend said yes. Just wondering because it's not something I wanna be eating if that's the case. :-(
Answers: If you are vegetarian, you dont want to be eating McD fries to begin with. They contain tallow, which is rendered beef fat from slaughtered cows. Right now, I am making oven fries with organic potatoes, olive oil and sea salt. They are healthier, more natural and just as tasty (more so) than McDonalds or other fast food fries. Here is whats in a McD fry:
French Fries:
Potatoes, vegetable oil (partially hydrogenated soybean oil, natural beef flavor (wheat and milk derivatives)*, citric acid (preservative), dextrose, sodium acid pyrophosphate (maintain color), dimethylpolysiloxane (antifoaming agent)), salt. Prepared in vegetable oil ((may contain one of the following: Canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, partially hydrogenated corn oil with TBHQ and citric acid added to preserve freshness), dimethylpolysiloxane added as an antifoaming agent). *CONTAINS: WHEAT AND MILK (Natural beef flavor contains hydrolyzed wheat and hydrolyzed milk as starting ingredients.)
A bunch of unnecessary garbage-Oh, and by the way, yes they are cooked in the same oil as animal containing items, such as chicken nuggets. I worked at McDonalds and they don't cook chicken nuggets and french fries in the same oil. Your friend is just stiring you up. Nope. My wife is very very allergic to poultry and can eat the fries just fine. Trust me, we'd know withing seconds. I don't think so- you can see the food prep while you're in line inside. The fries are separate from the chicken. Now, I'm sure they reuse the oil some, but I think they keep that separate too. Fries don't have a chicken taste. Nope well i don't see them
they cook fries separately Why do you want to be eating in McDonalds anyway? Esp since you don't know what they put in their "food".
What's a chicken "nugget" anyway? Chickens don't come in nuggets & don't look, taste & smell anything like chicken nuggets.
I doubt the fries are made of real potato either, have you tried a real potato or real fries? Tastes, looks & smells nothing like McDonalds fries. Yes they do, even if they tell you they don't.
Plus you shouldn't eat at Mcdonald's anyway, they are run by an evil scary clown. They spray the fries with beef fat. No.
jellbz---with that line of thinking you don't know what you're getting in ANY restaurant so you should avoid all of them.
BTW---a chicken nugget is a chunk of chicken......jellbz was confused as to where chicken nuggets come from.
jesusfreak, new ID today...big surprise, how long will this one last? YES, MY VEGETARIAN FRIEND SAYS SO AND SHE IS VERY RESOURCEFUL AND SHE GOT HER INFO FROM PETA2 YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK THE WEBSITE OUT not normally, if they get behind they may drop a basket of fries in the other deep fryer. they we're in a lot of trouble in India for having beef fat in their fryers. as a company, they change their oils in India. what do you think your locally owned McDonald's is doing? if you are not eating there, why worry about it? In 1986, when I worked there they were cooked together, fish were cooked seperate. But that was a few years ago, things may have changed. Yes and even if not the fries are made with beef fat you may want to look the ingredients up. Yes, and then they throw them on the grill to soak up some of the hamburger juices for added flavor. nno they dontt but i used to work there and they use beef grease oil stuff so u shouldnt eat them anywayz I don't know but why would it matter? Their fries all contain beef fat. If you're a vegetarian, you shouldn't be eating their fries anyway. The beef fat is added at the processing plant when the fries are frozen. There was a lawsuit filed against McD's a few years ago on this issue. They haven't stopped adding beef fat; they just admit to it now.
Edit: Why did someone thumb me down? Here's the link for the archived story.
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/06/0... Those are not potatoes, they are another vegetable (i cant remember how do yo say it in english), and they are mashed with animal products. mmmm delicious!!! Sure, why do you think they taste so good!
