Oh, forgot to mention Bird Flu too. I already am! =P
I knew this was coming... THE REVENGE OF THE COWS!!
MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHAHAHAHAHA!!... too right Nope
Can i give the flu to my goldfish? No! Foot and mouth and blue tongue can't be passed to humans anyhow. Plus if everyone was a vegetarian you would hardly see any animals and the countryside would be a poorer place for it. Then we'd have black spot, fusarium, wilt, downy mildew, aphids, caterpillars, carrot fly, onion fly, Colorado beetles, click beetles, tobacco mosaic virus, canker ... yes. i dread to think of the diseases to be had from meat. i'll stick to vegetarianism and take a chance on Bro.coli
T.T you rarely see farm animals in the country now. just a few sheep and some dairy cows. most animals are locked in sheds and barns. take a look at bernard matthews "farm" sorry no link but its a huge shed Not at all your just as exposed to bacteria and viruses especially e- colli.diphtheria and the foot & mouth from your sacred vegies.
oh ring worm. - - and some freaky thing from cat dung in the garden and the tomatoes..
Oooooh spooky ? It sure is, but I've been put off chick hens since the last SAAR'S virus ,after watching the disgraceful way the birds were kept, some dead some with no feathers with no room to turn round . Ghastly Of course it's the money that they are crying about. They don't care how much the animals suffer as long as the final product is suitable for introduction into the market. That is their only concern when giving any consideration to the health or well-being of an animal. i already am a vegetarian! HEHE this is god's revenge! lmao! Think b4 u kill inocent things! they will haunt u later! wen they are rotting in ur colons! LOL *evil face* MUHAHAHAH Indeed! Don't forget trichinosis(Worms) from pork meat. Most people don't realize that pork meat is literally infested with worms. Cook pork is nothing more than cooked worms.
High blood pressure, Arthritis, clogged arteries, diabetes and even cancer from these infested animals.
Vegetarian adds years to your life and life to your years. Its depressing, our cattle graze out on the high moor, enjoy having nothing much to worry about, warm sheds in the winter, all the vaccinations to keep them well (as you do when you travel!) the best veterinary treatments, vits and mins live out a longer life than they would in the wild, we know each one individually and their offstring, unfortunately if we left nature take its course, we would be over run with cattle, sheep and pigs, then when their natural food source ran out they would starve, if not so many were bred they would get inbred - so what is the answer? Jesus you are one sick individual. having a laugh at these animals that are undoubtedly suffering just because it makes your vile choice of vegetarianism in your simple mind justified in some way. Vegies are just under acheiving people who need to get noticed they dont really care about animals they care about "making a difference". the only "difference" vegetarianism will make is the extinction of a whole group of animals i.e. cows, pigs, chickens which but for the intervention of man would have been extinct by now anyway. You bunch of numptey's I surprised anyone still goes near the stuff. The farmers keep going on about how skint they are whilst leaning on a brand new 4x4.
I just wish they would live in the real world without all the grants and subsidies they get. They can even get paid to make the country side look nice! Bloody pathetic they are. I don't think you have any clue about farmers.
They will get paid market value for thier stock on the day of slaughter. So, sure they loose out, but its not about that.
Farmers do care about thier animals, its not just about money. Cows and sheep are living creatures with feelings,. moods. pain and thoughts. Of course farmers care if they suffer. They are driven into poor husbandry by people's lack of awareness of what driving down meat prices does to the animals.
The rapid spread of these deseases is caused by over concentration of farming, excessive transport. All driven by peoples desire for cheap meat.
Perhaps meateaters could take some responsibility for all of the current situations by realising its thier lack of support for animal welfare that has got us where we are today.
Lets be clear that there is no need to kill cows with blue tounge, its non contagious and an animal can recover from it in a few weeks, it just needs better husbandry, just like if you had a viral cold. It will likely have its final weight reduced by 10%, thats the only impact. The slaughtering is entirely due to political "we must be seen to do something" action.
Farmers could not ( as suggested above ) live in the "real world" because their gate prices for livestock and arables have been driven into the ground by the massive power of supermarket agency buyers and the general puplic who don't udnerstand what it costs to manage the land.
and they don't "get paid to make the country side look nice!". That is just disrespectful ignorance.
