If vegetarians don't like to eat living things, why do they eat fruits and vegetables?!

Question:

If vegetarians don't like to eat living things, why do they eat fruits and vegetables?

Aren't they living things? I mean sure you don't know if they "have feelings" but isn't that the case for animals?

Answers: 1. Because it's not possible to suck nutrients out of the air and soil.

2. The life in animals is more like our own life and is easier to relate to. I can tell when an animal feels pain, especially when the animal is a chordate (animal with a backbone). Even non-chordate animals such as insects and worms move and interact with the environment in a way that I can understand. I can't recognize this in a plant. No,animals are sentient, plants are not. Fruits and vegetables can't feel harm. Well, fruits+veggies are inanimate objcts as far as I know. I'm pretty sure they're just talking about unconscious things that dont feel pain. And yes animals do have feelings. they get angry, scared, and some express sadness at the loss of their young. So take that all how you want, and i hope i answered your question. because in their arrogance they have to eat something in order to survive.Fruit and vegetables die when you pick them, and rot if you don't.Happy eating.! Of course vegetarians and vegans eat living things. We just don't eat anything that was sentient. As for the rest of your question, what are you trying to say?

1. Plants have feelings? Really? Prove it.
2. Animals don't have feelings? Are you kidding me? Have you never seen a dog's eyes when it is in pain? I have asked myself the same question. I think its because meat can look back at you and they experience guilt. What if one day we found that snatching fruits and vegetables off the vine or ripping it from the roots was painful? Once its ripped from the earth it is dying. I wonder if they'd stop eating them also. Good question. Maybe they'd just stick to water after that. because.
1. planets don't have feelings
2. animals exprience pain, fear, and love just like we do.If you touture it -it will cry the same way you would cry and scream. Vegetarians don't eat animals. All living things have to eat living things to survive. Plant life is the only life that brings energy from the sun to the earth, that is basically the only reason anything is living on the earth. A guy above said this: "The life in animals is more like our own life and is easier to relate to". This just proved that vegans who love animals are all about themselves, and dislike only the guilt they feel when eating a delicious, healthy, vital meat chunk.

My response.
1) animals have feelings? really? prove it.
2) Plants dont have feelings? are you kidding me? have you ever checked the chemical messages one plant sends to another when they are being eaten, so the whole cluster of plants can start having bad taste?
You see pain in a dog′s eyes because it is more human than that, but less "effective as a response to pain".

Just eat a freakin′ cow. it would eat you if she had the chance! we dont like to not eat living things, we just dont like to have to eat things that were slaughtered, killed, are smarter than our own babies, and that have feelings, and that bleed, scream and cry wen they feel pain ,which they do, and to be able to reprouduce.

answer ur question? Snap! Plants scream when they are pulled out of the ground... look up kingdom animalae... there's you list... monera, plantae, fungi, and protista are all fair game. Vegetarians don't eat animals... those who have a sense of consciousness, nervous systems capable of feeling and processing the sense of pain, or can look at you and say with eyes.... please don't eat me. If you cannot tell the difference between a carrot and a cow, may I suggest you go back to high school and take a few biology courses. oh my goodness, you nieve, boy. vegetarians do not eat meat. who said anything about living things? we have to eat living things if we want to live. the thing is though, animals are capable of feeling physical pain, and the ways they're raised are simply terrible.

fruit doesn't get slaughtered and feel sadness of never being able to be with its family or natural surroundings. How about things with Faces things that have Souls..feel pain, acknowledge relationships.. If you ever meet an animal, and I recommend that you do, it is obvious that they have feelings and they definitely feel pain.

If you eat meat, you kill more plants because what do you think that those animals ate the entire time that they were alive?

Can you think of a reason for a plant to feel pain? What would the plant do in response, run away? Animals such as human beings feel pain for a reason, to know that something is causing damage to our bodies so that we can stop it or run away.
