ok so i just signed up for peta 2 and im trying to become vegan not just because they brainwash you but...because its good and i signed up for the free dvd and stickers and stuff but why do people think peta is so bad i mean what is it that they do that is so horrible besides reveal the truth? okay a lot of you are saying that they dont believe in owning pets? well i have 3 dogs that we rescued and i was on there website and it said that if you sent them a story about something you did for an animal like adopting a dog or cat that you would recieve like something special idk but it looks as though they do want you to own pets

okay a lot of you are saying that they dont believe in owning pets? well i have 3 dogs that we rescued and i was on there website and it said that if you sent them a story about something you did for an animal like adopting a dog or cat that you would recieve like something special idk but it looks as though they do want you to own pets I love peta2! i have been a member of the street team for a while. i've been veg for 13 years. i don't get why people are against all the good things peta does. i think most of the bad hype is from the meat companies are threatened by peta. and by the way, peta doesn't believe in pets as humans as superior owner of animals, they believe in compation animals as an equal and a member of the family. Peta doesn't believe in the ownership of pets, so get rid of your pets if you consider joining. I am very active in animal rights, but PETA is a terrible organization. If you truly want to help animals, don't donate to PETA, donate to The American Humane Society or another reputable organization. i know one thing alot of people have a problem with is that PETA actually kills animals. its done humanely to end their suffering, i think for a lot of the reasons pet shelters do it. some people think thats wrong, kinda like people oppose hunting deer even though without the hunters, deer have been known to overpopulate and end up starving.
Also, PETA is an extremist group that may sometimes exagerate, etc.
I have also heard that about not having pets. Ah yeah. PETA is a very very activist group. They often will raid groups that imprison animals. Their actions are looked down upon sometimes. Anywho, pay no attention to others, only to what you think. Especially if they are a meat eater.
PETA is all with owning pets people! They just are against buying from pet stores. Pet stores almost always buy from puppy mills. So adopt from pounds! ^^ OK, I keep reading this silliness that keeping a pet is cruel. Cats and dogs that are domesticated need us and cannot survive very well without us. I don't think PETA would advocate that caring for a domesticated animal is in anyway unkind. They are against animals that are suppose to live in the wild being kept in captivity, however. Most people think PeTA is bad because they come off as too radical and preachy.PeTA is not against you having a pet,as long as you spay/neuter it and that you didn't buy it from a pet store or breeder.
