wow you guys are really pathetic. im more important than a bee. like it or not, because im human. so taking my life would be about 300,000,000,000,000, times worse than killing a bee.

wtf bees do not have feelings. its a bug Looks like you got all of the v&v freaks out of the closet to answer this one. I love honey on my pork ribs. I could care less if a bee has feelings or not. I believe you can have honey, as it does not harm the bee!!
I am not currently vegan, but have been in the past. I just did not get anal about it.
I agree . . . it's a bug! Per Sylvia Brown, there are no bugs in heaven. Yes, I'm serious; it's bee puke! Besides, the bees are disappearing because they've had enough of humans stealing their food. a "bug" is an animal. vegans don't eat animal products. that's the reason. don't ask questions if you know the answer. hm..
how about.. taking your steak/car/house/arm/leg/eye/ / / / /LIFE/ / / / / because it belongs to you..? Bees have feelings too and deserve to live. Nope. Veganism was all an elaborate joke, created over 60 years ago, just to lure you to this section to ask this question. Gotcha!
Seriously though, bees are insects, and insects are animals. Since vegans do not consume animal products, yes, honey counts in that. Besides just the definition, there are other reasons: http://www.vegetus.org/honey/honey.htm...
Some vegetarians do draw the line before insects, so they would not consume eggs or milk, or use many other animal products, but would consume honey and other insect products. They would not technically be vegan, but it is an understandable position for a vegetarian to take and is pretty darn close to vegan.
Edit: You said: "im more important than a bee. like it or not, because im human. so taking my life would be about 300,000,000,000,000, times worse than killing a bee."
I agree, humans are more important to me as well, but caring about animals, the environment, the economy, etc. does not mean you cannot care about humans too! I promise you, if eating some honey would save your life, I'd do it, okay? ;) Yes, we are quite serious. Veganism means different things to different people, but my definition always includes not just opting out of the death and torture of other creatures, but also the exploitation of creatures, including "bugs". Every animal should have the right to live wherever it pleases, pollinate whatever they want (in this case), and breed when and how they choose. Wth? Your mad at us for wanting to stop harm/pain/abuse/slaughter in all living creatures, such as cows and even BEES?
What's wrong with you?
Your saying I'm weird for caring?
callous freak. If vegans ate an animal product, that would make them hypocrites. Where do you draw the line? What's the line that divides 'feeling animals' from 'non-feeling animals'? I'm pretty sure sponges don't have feelings (even compared to an insect), but vegans don't eat them. YOU ARE NOT MORE IMPORTANT THAN BEES.
You and I contribute less to the eco-system than they do. If we humans fell off of the face of the earth it would still keep on keeppin on. Stop being so arrogant!!!!!! Funny you should choose the bee for your rant. The bee is actually one of the most important members of any ecosystem. Bees pollinate a LOT of plants; moreso than birds or any other insect. Without pollination, those plants don't reproduce. If they don't reproduce, the plant population goes into drastic decline. Then many herbivores die out. Then the carnivores have to eat something else, and the whole system is completely screwed.
A while back there was a scare about cell phone towers interrupting with bee navigation. That has since been disproved, supposedly, but it was a very big deal. No bees = chaos. I read some of that vegetus page about bees.
The misinformation/propaganda/flat out lies contained on that page are staggering. You think that vegan people do not value human lives more than that of bees and other animals?
How pathetic of you to believe such a thing. I don't know if someone told you that, but if someone did, I would advise you to not take anything that they say seriously.
If you would think and maybe do thirty seconds of research, you would find that bees make honey because they need it. Do humans need honey? Yeah, people really need more sugar in their diets, don't they?
Honey is made by bees. Bees are animals. Vegan people do not consume animal products. I apologize if we aren't pathetic enough to care anout what an @ss such as yourself thinks. i dont want to eat honey becuz it belongs to the bees, they are living creatures who work hard. and then we come and steal it from them. and i became a vegetarian TODAY. and i dont care what you say about bees being "just" bugs. i will NOT eat dairy ever again. so you see, i will take this seriously. yes we r serious.
and no.your life doesnt seem more valuable to me. at least not from what you've shown me here.
have a good day! "bugs are useless little things that just take up space"
Then why is everyone up in arms about the wide spread colony collapse disorder that is killing the bees? Bees are pollinators, without them we would not be able to eat. Another little tidbit about "useless little bugs", if all of the ants on Earth were to vanish one day, in three days ecosystems would fail. If humans were to vanish, ecosystems would thrive and our absence would only be felt by domesticated animals until their primal instincts kicked in. So, who is really useless?
As to why vegans don't eat honey: vegans do not eat any animal products. That's it. Does it affect you? No. So why should you care? Yeah, they're serious, I'm afraid. These are really freaks. How about that bees are dying because human's are stealing their food, from one fanatic.
Do you like that one? They have a million more. Pathetic is an understatement. Freakin emo's are what they are.
Once again, YES, they are serious but "funny" ....LMAO. a bug that feeds human
without bees, we would have no food
i aint gonna explain, either think i'm crazy or understand my meanings
