What deoderant brand is NOT tested on animals?!
What deoderant brand is NOT tested on animals?
I just switched my shampoo/condition (dove), and my soap (caress), to sauve. Saving money, and better for animals. I have a problem though, I still use dove deoderant. Does anyone know any brands that don't test on animals? Would Secret be okay? Additional Details

Sorry if this is the wrong category, i wasnt sure where to put it. hey sweetie, I hate to tell u but suave is also tested on animals. I have a link I am placing for u, and everything from tide,Vaseline,suave,purex,Nike... bags, cover girl, max factor, arm and hammer, etc. And I am so happy that u r trying to find products that are animal friendly.. I to am having to find about every product I can.Because I wasn't aware that so many were actually tested on animals.I luv to hear that.Even my olay and ivory soap has to be replaced, hubbys arrid deo and gillet razor blades are tested on them.So beside each one it will give u a sample of a few products, then just click the link and go to the actual site and see what all is tested.u would be suprised. But unfortunatly There will always be animal testing and I have posted 2 diff links today on here only to basically to be shot down and mocked. So as long as u reach 1 person ,Then U have done great.I know I will feel much better knowing that I am doing my share not to harm or mame or kill these animals.Im proud of u! There are no regulations that cover the “cruelty-free” labeling claims. This allows companies to take liberties with their language.
Unfortunately, such liberties may include manipulating consumers into purchasing products with mere final product claims. There are no repercussions for companies that make deceptive “not tested on animals” claims, because they are likely being truthful in the literal sense.
A company itself may very well not test; it may not even commission or contract testing on its behalf. However, ingredient suppliers may engage in testing, and companies may purchase ingredients with a “don’t ask, don’t tell” philosophy. Or testing may occur in a parent company, while the subsidiary company — which labels the product — has not actually done the testing itself.
What all this means is that a statement on packaging may be literally correct — enough so to shield the company from accusations of legal breaches or public relations problems — while also being disingenuous, if not downright deceptive. A company’s “we don’t test on animals” language may be at face value true, but animals are still suffering and dying to make the company’s products.
While it is true that virtually every ingredient, even water, has been tested on animals in the past, there is nothing requiring further animal testing for cosmetics and we must prevent future needless animal testing. The Body Shop is opposed to animal testing. None of their products is tested on animals.
Good on you for raising this issue: it concerns me too.
This link may be useful: http://www.gocrueltyfree.org/ Tom's of Maine Deodorant. All natural, no animal testing and it is on the label. If you want to use products that have not been tested on animals you should visit your local Whole Foods Market or order online. I purchase everything from groceries to natural cleaning products and personal hygiene goods from them.
I think what you are doing by switching is great!!!! I use the Thai crystal. You just wet it and rub under your arms. It works for me on all but the hottest days. You can get it at Whole Foods or from Pangea (www.veganstore.com). Many of the brands in Whole Foods--such as Nature's Gate and Avalon--are not tested on animals.
Lush also has some deodorant bars (and powders), most of which are actually vegan. They have a very strict policy against animal testing. I use 'kiss my face' roll-on. It's vegan and I can get it in Tesco UK all avon stuff
