Vegan + girl issues? (not a question for guys, so DON'T even try answering!)?!

Question:

Vegan + girl issues? (not a question for guys, so DON'T even try answering!)?

Before turning vegan, my breasts would swell just before my period. Now, after being vegan for almost a full year, my breasts are swelling during the last days of my period. Has this happened to you, too? What is the reason for this change? Should I be worried?

Also, with becoming vegan, I'm experiencing less cramping - which is a huge plus. It's really the breasts that I'm kinda confused about.

Answers: I think there is no reason to worry. I'm vegan too (closing in on 2 years! ;-)) and I haven't noticed much of a differance. Breasts do swell up a little during the period, t's a natural thing. Usually me it's during the whole period, but it can vary. It really doesn't matter, don't worry.

As for having less cramps, I've noticed that too! That's a HUGE advantage ;-)

To everyone, go vegan ;-) Well I'm not Vegan but what you are experiancing is pretty normal. You don't say how old you are but changes in your cycle and any related symptoms are a common occurrance in a womens life.

Mine changes every couple of years. It probably has nothing to do with being vegan. There has also been a connection between swelling and pain and caffiene. Also with being vegan you are probably more aware of what you eat and other things you put into your body.

But it does sound normal. Cows are usually injected with hormones so they will be able to over produce milk, then because their utters are being over worked they are injected with antiobiotics to stop infections in their utters. I would assume all of these hormones and anti biotics would be present in the milk you drink, therefore discontinuing drinking milk might keep your body more "natural"
Just a theory Swelling in normal. It's a Whole Estrogen balance thing., That is changed is not bad, but you may consider eliminating salt the week before your period they may not swell at all then.
Many women find a plant based diet does wonders for that time of the month as well as many other benefits.
My Personal Trainer said she went from 2 good weeks a month to just a few hours of PMS when she started a plant based diet & improved even more when she went RAW this summer.

Slainté (to your health) My breasts are always the same.

You are NOT a vegan.

If you eat comercially grown produce or use a vehicle of any sort, you are NOT a vegan.
