Sick of meat???


Lately I have been so sick of meat all i eat is turkey and chicken, I think I want to go for a veggie diet and cut out all meat!
What are other sources of good protein?


Answers: Soy is the best source of protein (better than meat even).

If you want to get the best sort of protein (complete proteins), you need to eat cereals and legumes. Not necessarily during the same meal, but just think to eat some of both. For example, couscous is a meal rich in proteins, thanks to the semolina and chick peas. Or rice with red beans. Houmous on bread. Rice and lentils. You get the idea.

Hope you do turn veggie - think of all the lives you will save.

Good luck :-) beans and supplements, my dad has me taking supplements. Vegetarians eat eggs and they all full of protein. Beans, peas (dried), lentils, tofu, and nuts are good sources of protein.
Not all vegetarians eat eggs. You can scale back without going whole hog (sorry for the pun).

Introduce fish and seafood into your diet. Maybe a little pork and a little red meat as well.

Certainly there are veggie sources but none so efficient as a little meat now and then. Plus you have to keep up your B12 unless you want to screw around with supplements. I have been free of meat for over twenty years and I feel great. Beans, lentils, nuts, soy products. Invest in a good vegetarian cook book and have some fun.
