i mean vegetarian “It is the position of the American Dietetic Association and Dietitians of Canada that appropriately planned vegetarian diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate and provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases.”
“Well-planned vegan and other types of vegetarian diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including during pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood and adolescence. Vegetarian diets offer a number of nutritional benefits, including lower levels of saturated fat, cholesterol, and animal protein as well as higher levels of carbohydrates, fiber, magnesium, potassium, folate, and antioxidants such as vitamins C and E and phytochemicals. Vegetarians have been reported to have lower body mass indices than nonvegetarians, as well as lower rates of death from ischemic heart disease; vegetarians also show lower blood cholesterol levels; lower blood pressure; and lower rates of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and prostate and colon cancer.“

Conscientious vegan how old are you?
There are no health issues as long as you get the proper nutrients. I was a vegetarian most of my life till just a few years ago. And yes unfortunately my family weren't the most healthy eating vegetarians around. We ate alot of Italian food, little veggies and almost no protein. It has rocked all of our health. I would suggest if you truly want to go through with this that you get mega amounts of protein in your diet however you can so you don't end up ill from your choice. Also you need to find like a really good omega 3 supplement.
P.S. My choice to start eating meat had everything to do with my health and nothing to do with my love for animals. I still really love animals and the fair treatment of them. Animals are great but some of them were put here for sustenance. So I would seriously consider how strong your vegetarian values are. Would you starve rather than eat an animal? True convictions do not change in any situation. Like how I would die before I would eat a human. cool, I'm a vegearian too, but just don't be rude to people who do eat meat. It's great that you're helping the animals. Enjoy!! Just ignore sexy moma. Some people come on here just to harass others. I (and the rest of my family) have been vegetarians for ever - if anything we enjoy a very healthy life. I don't think you need to be unduly worried but if you are that concerned or you need certain very specific nutrients, I am sure a good dietitian can provide better guidance.
There are also plenty of vegetarian recipes you can find by searching (http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=vegetar... ). Finding acceptable to very good restaurants serving vegetarian food is also not too difficult.
