i dont need to get advice from your bald *** head, its obvious full of air. Why do ypu care that i go vegan, if i want to i will. I never liked meat in the first place and eating an animal that once roamed ths earth is disgusting. my question is what should i eat, not what you think. start out slow. say, every two weeks you get rid of one animal product until you weed everything out. then after a few months of vegetarianism try being a vegan for a week. If your parents won't respect your decision, ask if you can cut one type of meat out, say red meat/beef, until you move out. or offer to purchase and prepare all your own food.
1. Tofu is in the vegetable/producesection of most grocery stores where the veggie dips and other refrigerated veggie stuff is. it might be a shock to go straight from meat to tofu. try soy "meats" first the texture/flavour will be much easier to adjust to.
2. soy or rice.
3. in baking, canned pumpkin, apple sauce, squished bananas, even any fruit baby food. for recipes, there's "egg " powder that you add water to. for omlettes, there is liquid egg...stuff. i don't like it.
alternativeoutfitter.com has great vegan clothing/shoe/beauty products.
I don't reccomend going straight to vegan. Try vegetarian first to figure out ways to get all your minerals, vitamins, and protein in. You can eat french fries for ever meal then drink a vitamin water and say you're a healthy vegetarian. you'll get terriblly sick.
congrats on trying to make a positive change. feel free to email me if you need any help. Go here:

Good luck! Geez girl I went to Peta.com once and it didn't do a thing to me. I don't think those animals should be treated the way they are sometimes though. I have had tofu before, it's alright-has no flavor. It's in any grocery. You can drink soy, rice, almond milk-there are probably others. Soy will have protein. Soy milk is sweet though, you have to acquire a taste to it at first. I don't know about the eggs, and what do you mean convince your parents? Just don't eat the meat at meals, and if they make you you have to talk to them. Hopefully they understand. Then maybe they will buy these items for you. Clothing? Not sure, but I think there's a link to some sites about that on Peta unless I'm thinking of something else. I eat these things sometimes too, but it never sticks for me. Good luck to you and awesome for making a decision with the intent on helping others. If you choose to go vegen then educate yourself to the right way of eating vegen style so you remain healthy. 1.) It's delicious. you can find it at almost any grocery store, really. just ask a clerk where their section is.
2.) yup--rice, soy--they're really yummy.
3.) yup. vegan egg substitute.
4.) tell them it's a personal choice and you've chosen it.
no leather, no wool, ect. i'm not vegan, but i know some stuff about it. hey good luck! please re consider due to droughts all over the world there is a shortage on stock feed i don't really think if you love animals you should eat all of there food First of all....
PETA is evil...They show you only the absolute worst videos on their website. That is not how all animals are killed that's just how PETA wants you to think all animals are killed.
Secondly, why would you want to go vegetarian let alone vegan? Look at yourself!! You have eyes in the front of your head and you have canine teeth! you were made by nature to hunt, kill and eat meat! If you were meant to eat vegetables all day long your eyes would be on the side of your head, you'd have nothing but molars and odds are I would eat you.
Honestly i think your decision is stupid as well as everyone's decision to become a vegetarian. I respect peoples opinion's when they're valid...but seeing a stupid PETA video should not constitute the reason you should become vegan.
First of all, stop being a downer. realize that animals have to be killed to be eaten. If you want animals that are killed humanely either do it yourself or buy organic meats. typically they're killed the old fashioned way. Also halal meats are killed humanely as well.. Don't stop eating meat because of the jerkwads over at PETA and their anti meat campaign. If they had it their way everyone would be living in bamboo huts wearing hemp clothing, eating nothing but vegan crap and all dying long drawn out deaths due to starvation.
remember...You were made to be a killer, you were made to be a predator! you are NOT a deer, you are NOT a cow, you are NOT some goofy bird. You are a meat eating animal killer through and through. Awsome!
I'm Vegetarian but I can't really answer those questions lol milk - try Silk soymilk. I think since your just beginning try the one that says 'slighty sweetened vanilla'. from there on you can experiment with the other flavors. Vegeterian foods - I personally Shop at a big publix that has a vegan or as they call it 'greens' section. Or just search online for a vegan supermarket near you. As for convincing your parents, Let them sit down, tell them you have something to say, tell them how you feel and warn them about teasing and practical jokes. It will take alot of work to get over temptation of eating meat and etc, I've had friends who've tried the whole vegan thing so I know. Fortunatly I was a born vegan, always gaged at milk and etc. um, Good Luck! lol Tofu is absolutely amazing, there is a Thai Garden restaurant near here, i don't know if you have one there, but if you do I recommend the Pad See Ew (with no egg and with tofu). It is very good grilled with bbq or even teriyaki sauce. Try Silk Soy Milk in any of the flavors, i recommend vanilla or chocolate. There are powdered egg substitutes that you could find if you ask a store manager.
My mom sells beef jerky for a living, wasn't exactly easy to convince her. But if you create your own shopping list and adopt protein eating habits, they'll understand. And just give it time, eventually they'll stop bugging you. :)
