What's wrong with vitamins? That's the simplest solution. Or do you like to create drama in the family with your "vegetarian" thingee? Take the vitamins that your parents want you to and keep peace in the family.
Your parents are generous. They are letting you do this diet that is just crazy for your age, so don't make more trouble for them than you already have.
If you were my kid you would eat what I put on the table. Period. You could do what you want AFTER you are out on your own.

The Moosewood Restaurant has great vegetarian recipes that are healthy too. http://www.moosewoodrestaurant.com/...
From WebMD some more vegetarian information:
Here are seven more meatless dishes to appeal even to the chronically carnivorous:
Bean there, done that! Beans make great meat replacements, probably because they're super-satisfying with high amounts of protein and fiber. You might not notice the meat's missing when you dine on chili bursting with beans. A bean burrito makes a fine meal, and vegetable stew can be quite filling when you add beans.
Veggie pot pie, featuring potatoes, peas, mushrooms and any other vegetables with a vegetarian gravy and a vegetarian pie crust (if desired).
Mexican dishes featuring beans and veggies instead of beef and chicken: burritos, nachos, enchiladas, etc.
Stir-fry up some Chinese entrées with veggies and tofu, and serve atop rice or noodles.
Stuff bell peppers with a mixture of rice with spices and vegetables. Add vegetarian sausage, tofu, or beans to make the dish more satisfying.
Layer your lasagna with veggies, not meat. Lasagna has so much going for it (sauce, cheese, noodles, spices, etc.) that you won't miss the meat. You can do the same with other pasta dishes, too. Macaroni & cheese doesn't need meat to pass muster. Neither does fettuccine Alfredo, nor cheese tortellini with pesto or marinara sauce.
Substitute hearty vegetables that have substantial texture and a rich, satisfying flavor (like eggplant, spinach, portabella mushrooms, zucchini) for the meat in your favorite dishes. Thick slices of broiled eggplant can replace chicken in eggplant parmesan, and spinach can stand in for ground beef in lasagna. Tofu can take the place of beef in chili. A grilled portabella mushroom served on a bun can even take the place of a burger.
Good Luck! tofu has loads of protein and is usually the choice for vegetarians protein dietary needs
beans and legumes contain significant amounts of protein too Vitamins will not give you the needed protein. I would talk to a certified nutritionist about the best diet to ensure you get all the needed macro and micro nutrients that you need. I would NOT rely on information you receive online when considering something as important as your diet, without confirming it with a doctor or nutritionist first. you're getting proteins...
ignorance is a killer.. your parents should know better than that...
if you want protein injections so to speak.. eat a handful of...
seeds... nuts, soy, beans... those are peaks of protein.
but all foods have some amounts of protein.. no kidding... read up about it... also....
you're eating better than over 70% of the world's population now...
remember... so many complain that people don't eat their fruits and veggies... so why all of the sudden that's bad?
???
make sure they're fresh... frozen and canned veggies and fruits are very lackluster in vitamins and minerals.. they're processed so forget that junk... get fresh!
actually i have no idea who started the 'fact' that meats are powerhouses for protein... meat is actually rather poor provider in proteins.. vitamins and minerals...
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=veg... be sure to take vitamins ok............. Fish, fish is not meat, it's fish. You don't need to eat meat. My sons have been lacto-vegetarians for 25 years, ever since they were 2 and 5 years old. They're 27 and 30 now. They are tall, very successful, very healthy, and very smart. Both were National Merit Scholars who attended top universities for undergraduate and graduate degrees.
Just eat a variety of foods. You can get some protein from avocados, tomatoes and peppers, and a lot more from beans and nuts. If you're a lacto-vegetarian, yogurt is terrific.
Good luck! I really like veggie protien. I don't have any problem finding Smart Chili and Smart Grounds no matter where I go and they are great! soybeans (made into boca burgers, smart dogs, smart ground "beef")
lentils (like beans they have lentil soup)
refried beans
baked beans
anything with beans
whey protien (is a dairy source)
and many other things, have several servings of beans and lentils a day (unless you are allergic) and then you will feel better. don't give up. you will most likely feel terrible for a few weeks after you make the transition and then you will feel great. if you are allergic to any or all of the above listed, then i think a supplement would be a good idea. don't forget about other stuff like vitamin b12 vitamin d and vitamin c and fiber. if you get to much protien (like i did today, 156%) then you will be cramped up. a common misconception is that you need protien from meat to live, but it isn't true. i have been a veg for 11 and 1/2 months. also, since you are new to being a veggie, i will tell you about gelatin in case you don't know, it is grinded up bones that gives candy and jello a chewy taste (which almost made me vomit when i found out about it) and most chewing gums contain an animal ingredient although i am not sure what. good luck, and e-mail me if you have any questions. good luck thanks for reading this. The fact that your parents want you to take vitamins because they're worried about your protein intake worries me (vitamins and protein are completely different things.) At any rate, let them know that protein deficiency is virtually unheard of in the Western world. Instead, most of us (vegetarians included) get more or FAR more than we need. You can get your protein from soybeans and soy foods (tofu, tvp, fake "meats,") beans and other legumes (lentils, peas, chickpeas, peanuts and peanut butter,) nuts and seeds, whole grains (quinoa is a good one because it's a complete protein and is also a good source or iron and calcium,) fresh fruits and vegetables (especially dark green veggies,) and dairy and eggs if you're still eating them. Since your parents seem to lack some fundamental nutritional knowledge, you'd do well to pick up a book on vegetarian nutrition ("Becoming Vegetarian" by Brenda Davis and Vesanto Melina would be a good one, and there's also one of those "Complete Idiot's Guide" books as well.) Lentils, Soy beans, Chick peas have more protein than meat What's wrong with vitamins? That's the simplest solution. Or do you like to create drama in the family with your "vegetarian" thingee? If you were my kid you would eat what I put on the table. Period. You could do what you want AFTER you are out on your own. As you and your family appear to be doing this together -- in support of your father -- it might be nice to invest in a couple of vegetarian cookbooks, and then do some meal preparation together.
So, first step, go as a family out to a bookstore and browse through the vegetarian cookbooks. Look for what appeals, although the recommendation of any of the 'Moosewood' books would be a place to start. Find a couple of books with recipes that you will find easy to prepare, and that appeal to your taste buds; that should give you a start.
I wish the best for you and your family . . .
