Fruitarians (or 'fructarians') - anyone out there one?!

Question:

Fruitarians (or 'fructarians') - anyone out there one?

I love fruit and have thought of changing my diet totally to fruits and would love hear from people who have tried this or are living this approach.

Answers: I'm not directly answering your question because I am not a fruitarian, I am only suggesting that perhaps you should not convert entirely to fruits. Unless you are somehow morally against everything but fruit, it is my opinion that you should simply focus on fruit, not eliminate everything other than fruit. I say this because there are essential nutrients in vegetables and grains that should not be avoided. Don't. There isn't sufficient protein or calories in a fruitarian diet. You have to eat rice/wheat, beans, nuts. Strictly speaking, they are fruits too, so you can include them in a fruitarian diet. You just won't be able to eat vegetables. But vegetables contain vitamins and minerals most fruits don't have, like B vitamins and calcium. Shania Twain
