Do veggies burgers or boca burgers taste like the real thing?!

Question:

Do veggies burgers or boca burgers taste like the real thing?

Answers: Don't I wish!! I hate the death of any animal, but my stomach is such a hypocrite and craves beef. There is a clear difference....they aren't awful, some are pretty good, but they aren't beef!! Totally different, yet totally awesome, taste. no, they are "the real thing" and they taste pretty different, they have a much more interesting taste.

I have never heard of a boca burger before so i cant comment on them Some do, some don't.

Some try to, some have their own thing going on.

Try as many as you can. You may find exactly what you are looking for or you may find something completely different that you'll be glad that you found.

Remember, if you like your burgers with more than just a bun and a patty, you should add everything that you usually use to dress one up.

Gardenburger Grillers may work for you. I've tried multiple types of veggie burgers. Not a single one tasted like beef. They were still really good though.

I really enjoyed them, but let's face it, they're never going to fake someone out in a taste test. "real thing" as in beef...no

They are not supposed to, they are "burgers", - a shape and way of cooking something, not a taste.

The same as vegetarian sausages, they have never been meant to taste like dead cows or pigs.

Because the veggie burgers and sausages vary so much in taste you should perhaps try a few brands to see what you like best. Pure crap if you are looking for "meat". AND it's expensive crap!! Fortunately, no. Nope.

Veggie burgers taste like... veggies.

None of the fake meats taste exactly like the real thing, but that doesn't mean they taste bad. Some of the veggie burgers are really good, and I can even get my family (of meat eaters) to eat the Portabello Mushroom Gardenburgers.

The fake meats make transitioning to vegetarianism easy, but most of the vegetarians I know leave them behind after a few months. Veggie burgers and boca burgers do not taste like the real thing. They taste more like scraps left over at the end of the day and mashed into a quasi-burger patty. Truly disgusting. Soy meats are a slightly aquired taste.. They will "fill in the gap" When you just want a "normalish" burgers and fries kinda meal.. but you will enjoy soy meats ALOT More if you DON'T expect them to taste like meat.. Because, frankly, they don't.. BUT they do have their own delicious flavor. But they will still satisfy when you just want to sit down to a quick, easy, and tasty buger and fries dinner.

I love them.. I started liking soy meats when I stopped comparing them to real meat. Now I think they taste better! Well.. okay, it's been awhile since I ate real meat LOL.. They don't taste like hamburgers. Boca burgers are great...I eat them all the time. The All-American Flame Grilled ones taste a lot like a real hamburger. I have had veggie burgers and they taste like a raw potato. but they do taste good, but not like a burger. Then again burgers aint that good anyway. Try it and see if you like it. Boca burgers come pretty close to the "real thing". The veggie burgers really don't. My favorite is Morning Stars Mushroom burger. And, really watch grilling a Vegetarian Black Bean burger. They tend to fall apart. It depends on what you think is the real thing. If you're thinking McDonalds is the real thing, then it's going to be very close since their burgers are a mixture of ground beef and what I believe is soy product. If it's pure ground beef you're looking for, then Bocas or Morningstar Farms Prime Grillers are not going to taste like that, but those are the 2 brands that, topped with the usual fixings, have a similar flavor.

Kim at: http://www.peaceful-organic-planet.com/h... No, and do not be fooled by veganaise either. I bought it and I PUKED. After reading so many good comments I found the taste of veganaise INSULTING. Dissapointing.
