Why does egg have a lot of protein?!

Question:

Why does egg have a lot of protein?

Like, why does a chicken egg need a lot of protein? (Stuff to do with chicks, etc)

May I have a long, detailed answer?

Thank you.

Answers: Eggs are a great source of protein. One egg has anywhere from 6 to 6.5 grams of protein in it depending on the size. The yolks have about 3 grams of protein and the whites have about 3.5. One average sized egg has about 70 calories. If you're worried about fat, don't eat the yolks. You'll be cutting out about half the protein though. In general, eggs are a great way to add protein to your diet. The actial yolk has a lot of protein because if you think about it it is a really early version of a chicken. The chicken as we know as a lot of protein. So the yolk naturally has lots of protein.

They supply a large amount of complete, high-quality protein (which contains all essential amino acids for humans), and provide significant amounts of several vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, riboflavin, folic acid, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, choline, iron, calcium, phosphorus and potassium. They are also one of the least expensive single-food sources of complete protein. One large chicken egg contains approximately 7 grams of protein. Source(s):
google, wikipedia Any fetus in its development needs a food supply, particularly protein.

An egg is a self-contained 'cell with a shell', so the baby chicken fetus feeds off the yolk while the egg-white contains protein. I'm guessing that when the fetus in the egg it needs alot of protein. So then the eggs will have alot of protein too.
