Should you eat meat?!

Question:

Should you eat meat?

Eating meat is one of the most selfish things a human can do. Uneducated people have absolutely no clue about the matter. The meat and dairy industries have brainwashed the average American. Go ahead, eat meat. Kill thousands of humans, animals and slowly kill the planet to boot... All for your slab of meat, filled with cancers, pesticides, antibiotics, chicken feces, fat, cholesterol, pumped full of non-FDA approved drugs. No wonder Americans are unfit, fat, and a burdon on the health system. No wonder every second commercial on US TV is "ask your Doctor this, ask your Doctor that"...America is a sick and frail nation....And the Meat, Dairy, and Drug industries are taking y'all for the biggest ride of the century. Wake up America! Get fit, educate yourself on the matter before opening your mouth or knocking a Vegan/Vegetarian. Meaters ignorance and stupid comments just make them look dumber. Veggies are smart. Meat eaters are just un-informed and un-educated on the matter. Period.

Good valid points Roy.
But when we now are given the choice and can save thousands of lives the world over by not eating meat...I have a problem with that.

Sorry to offend you blackbyrus. I am not yelling (Don't know where you picked that one up). I am simply stating hard, cold facts. Noting more, nothing less.
Cheers

Also, I meant uneducated on the matter I.e. vegetarianism. This was not meant as an insult or to say meat eaters are uneducated in general. I was not educated on the matter either until a few years ago. I wish I was a lot sooner though.

Like I said, educate yourself on the matter. Lions and Tigers need to eat meat to survive. Humans do not. For every pound of meat you eat, 16 pounds of grain must be fed to the animal. Then there is transport costs etc etc. If every American stopped eating meat we could feed the world 4 times over and be healthier to boot. Tell that to the kid who is starving to death so you can enjoy your infested beef burger...

Tell that to the kid who is starving to death so you can enjoy your infested beef burger... Sometimes ppl need a wake up call like this. We can all be soft spoken and gentle and frankly most of the world does not pay attention to it. This question invokes emotion, which is the whole point. People NEED to get angry at this issue and look at what they are choosing to do to their bodies, the environment and animals. I truely believe that if ppl knew what went on in the meat/dairy industry, 99% of them would never consume another animal. Factory farming is barbaric & inhumane. Its not like these animals get to have a happy life and then are slaughtered at the end of it. They never see the light of day, their food is laced with antibiotics, they are injected on average with 21 vaccinations (cows) and injected with dozens of hormones. They are chained to concreate posts. They are separated from their moms when they are days old (veal), fed a diet void of iron so they dont even have the muscles to stand, and can not even turn around. Wake up! This is cruelty at its finest. The great thing is that everyone of us can make such a huge difference. By choosing not to eat animals, you not only save that particular animal, but put a dent in the meat/dairy industry. It will probably sadly take an epidemic/outbreak of mad cow etc for the majority of the population to wake up. By that time, how many more ppl will have died from consuming, animals pumped full of chemicals, hormones, antibiotics, vaccinations and animals that have been fed other animals. Its not natural and its not right. We have the power to make a choice everyday in what we eat. Choose wisely. Now that you're done your b*tching.....what was the question????? There's no need to be so rude to people. Not only is that a nasty thing to do, but you're not exactly winning people over.

And this is coming from a vegetarian myself.

P.S. - Non-vegetarians are just as smart as vegetarians, anyway. You don't know the reasons people choose to do what they do. What we can do is positively suggest the option and let them choose, not yell angry invective and ad hominem attacks. R-E-S-P-E-C-T, you know? meat is what made man come out of the stone age, stand upright, and is what caused his brain to develop .. if your forefather's did not eat meat you would still be living in a cave... beating on other cave men with a club...

what contributed to man's development was the increase in protein in his diet that came from meat..

give thanks to your ancestors who finally came off the trees, stopped eating leaves, roots and fruits, and started eating meat and eons down the evolutionary line thought-up the internet that you are now posting on... complaining about why people should not eat meat. =D

Roy
http://www.roysencio.com Yes

BUT
The way we over do it myself included is not healthy. You do need vegetables more than meat so I'll give you that.

But what about live and let live.

If you don't like meat than just don't eat it but it's none of your business if I do.

I am however, against the way animals are killed to make the meat "kosher".

There is NOTHING selfish about eating meat I think you are taking it a little too far. Lions and tigers eat meat too so are they selfish. When if we all stop eating meat than we have an overpopulation of animals running around. We'll be like animal farm LOL.

Edit> No problem. I will gladly tell that kid that's starving. I bust my a s s working 2 jobs. So if I want to eat a nice steak or a burger I think I earned.

I am curious about being vegatarian and maybe just eating fish because of the health benifits but now I will eat more meat out of spite and blame you because you are rude. Your rant has just turned off a few people from the idea of becoming "one of us".

Good job.

It is selfish, but it takes more than a poorly written monologue to motivate them to go against the way that they were raised. This "question" is not helping the cause of vegetarianism at all.

It makes you sound like a preachy school kid

Just read your first bout of addition comments.
Is your name Ashley ? I agree with everybody else here. You cannot force your agenda down everybody's mouth. If people want to eat meat your rants are not going to change their minds. You speak of education. however, people who scream at others and act like a fanatic do not appear to be highly educated or regarded by most people. Do you think the Dali Llama would approve of converting people to vegetarianism this way?

Also, I agree with Michael this is probably a waste of time trying to convince you of anything because you probably are the latest Ashely troll. I do not believe we have seen her for a few days. i love meat It's true - writing this sort of text does induce anger, and I don't think very helpful in the long term.
However, when a person chooses to pay for a product which came from a creature who suffered and died for it, it is indeed a selfish act. People either choose to close their eyes and live a convenient life (meaning - the ability to purchase everything they want) or they KNOW the facts, but choose to ignore them (again, for the sake of convenience). Both choices are selfish.

about "LIVE AND LET LIVE":
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, you can believe whatever you want, as long as you don't hurt others.
When another creature (may it be a woman, a child or an animal) is being used and/or killed, one has not only the right, but the responsibility to act against it.

-Ms. Green ok.... what's the question???????? Michael H,
I have to disagree with you here. The cold truth is needed. Enough of this ***** footing around, not trying to hurt people’s feelings. Do you think McDonalds would be in business if TV commercials showed not a happy kid or teen enjoying a Big Mac watching the burger being flipped on the grill then put on a bun added lettuce etc, but instead perhaps an abused cancerous sickly cow who is tortured then finally has its throat slit while it hangs upside down, screaming in agony and pain???
I was converted by the facts, seeing what actually goes on with animals behind closed doors etc.
It is not an agenda or a preach. It is just the facts
