Fast food options for vegans?!

Question:

Fast food options for vegans?

Answers: If you eat out, you always run the risk of finding some meat in your food.
There are not many fast food options...

Many fast food chains (like burger king) say that they have separate fryers for fries--that they don't use the same oil they cook meat in to cook fries. But unless you make the food, you never really know how lenient they are with these kinds of rules.

McDonald's is NOT vegetarian friendly...

Wendy's says right on their site that the same oil can be used to cook both fries and meat.

Bk's veggie burger isn't vegan. And their fries are questionable.

Taco bell isn't bad, but I know for a fact that the one near me isn't very serious about appealing to the vegetarian crowd (got beef and chicken in a bean burrito one time)
Also I'm pretty sure that their tortillas contain mono&diglycerides, so who knows where that came from.

I've eaten at subway a few times, they are probably your best bet. Though I'm not entirely sure about the bread, I'm pretty sure it's vegan (don't take my word for it though, I'll have to double check)

The only sure thing at fast food places is a salad... even then sometimes they mistakenly put cheese, and I don't even think that they carry vegan dressings.

Edit: about subways bread...
According to thier website FAQ's
The Italian bread contains no animal ingredients.
The wheat and deli roll contain honey.
And the others are obvious-- cheese topped
(they *say* that their stearoyl 2 lactylate and the mono& diglycerides are of plant origin... who knows?...)

According to them, if you get the "Veggie Delight" on Italian bread with with oil and vinegar (instead of mayonaise or something gross like that) without cheese, you're fine.
I have had it before, and it is good. Source(s):
My 360 :]
http://360.yahoo.com/profile-vhtvuj05cqp... no such thing. Go to Subway. They have good vegetarian subs. I'm vegan and I do not eat fast food because even the salads and such at fast food joints still touch the meat sometimes, so if you have been a devout vegan for awhile your abstinence from meat can make you sick if you accidentally eat some

Options I have found are:
Salad places like Crispers or Cici's
Wendy's- baked potato (no bacon bits or sour cream)
Taco Bell- Quesadilla or just chips and salsa
Burger King- Fries -just try to avoid this because they cook thier fries in the same oil as their chicken
Or try googling "vegetarian restaurants" with your zip code and that should give you some options

PS- NEVER eat at McDonalds- they let the food touch and they hire sex offenders and teens...... I heard (can't remember where, presumably another vegan forum) that only one of the breads at Subway is vegan (and I can't remember which one). Sorry to be so vague and unhelpful, but I avoid Subway for this reason. Well, if you live in Southern California there is a fast food restaurant in Pasadena called Orion - completely vegan and really good. http://www.vegetarian-restaurants.net/ot...

That should help... Subway is your best bet.

I love their veggie delight sandwiches..

You can't use mayo, southwest sauce, or cheese, of course..

THeir white bread is vegan. Wheat bread has honey...

their veggie PATTY is not vegan. Not that I recommend this, but you can order a "veggie" burger at In N Out. They even have an option for it on their register that prints "veggie" on the receipt. This means you get everything but the meat - lettuce, onion, tomato. I'm not sure if the bun is vegan, and you'll probably have to go without their sauce... But I'm always a little weary of ordering at a place where meat is the specialty! you are not a vegan if you want to have fast food!!!! deal with it. You're going to have a really hard time finding something that is completely vegan, particularly because most of the bread will at least have egg. I don't think you can ever be really sure that you know what you are getting at fast food restaurants. I've ordered stuff before without the burger and found bits of burger on the bun. We have a great place near my house that serves only veggie burgers and salads. It is so great but there aren't many places like that.

Don't fall for the vegetarian options at McDonald's !!!
