Commercials for meat?!

Question:

Commercials for meat?

Instead of seeing Ronald McDonald with a great big happy face chowing down a Quarter Pounder with cheese in a commercial, should we instead educate the population by showing how that second rate meat (that is no good for sale in stores, and pawned off to the fast food restaurants) is really produced in the slaughterhouses, how the animals are tortured, force-fed, and mistreated. How the slabs of flesh are ground up, mixed with puss, cancers, and disease into a Big Mac Patty?...Yum boys and girls, can't you just wait for your next birthday party at Mcdiks?

Answers: Ridiculous statements like you just made are why vegetarians do not get taken seriously.

Comer back when you actually have a question, instead of just an adolescent rant. I think I just puked in my mouth. Yea, you must be the life of the party. At the same time lets show all the rat droppings, human waste, phlegm, feathers, hairs, and other stuff that are allowed in your fresh and canned vegetables.

If people always saw the truth of what they ate, we'd be a society of people eating nothing but synthetic foods and pills for nutrition.

I personally have seen cows and pigs gutted, and eaten that very animal that day. Heck, for the Halloween party the pig's heads are mounted on poles outside the doors of the place we go to eat those pigs.

Food is food. Get off your high horse and leave me and my meat eating friends alone. Judgemental fool, thinking you're going to change people by ranting on Yahoo Answers? Please. Well, what do you know? Upton Sinclair has come back from the dead.

You can be sure that if somebody thought there was money to be made from running a commercial like you have described, they would run it.

Hmmm. There's a McDonald's just down the street that's open 24/7. You made me hungry! Off I go... Don't eat it any way.... We don't live in a world of right and wrong.

We live in a world of profitable and unprofitable. It wouldn't help. The evidence is already out there and people choose to ignore it.

It is a bit of a joke when you see MCDs use a picture of a Jersey cow in thier adverts.....Jersey cows are dairy cows and NEVER used for beef. Even MCDs don't seem to know what they are doing, let alone thier customers. i well celebrate it in my house. It's economics.

I'ts not being shown now because the meat and dairy industries are able to buy that commercial time for a million (literally) times more money than any animal rights group.

Plus, we don't want to "disturb" people with the reality of where their food comes from, right? : ) Yeah, but it all gets boiled/baked/fried away.

Now how about that immigrant worker sh*tting in your lettuce? I had a relative that worked at Oscar Meyer and he would totally agree with you. The will cut off tumors and just toss them in with the processed meat. A lot of people know this stuff but don't have enough self control to actually think about what they eat. They just simply ignore it.

To Crypt: Nice about the pig heads! You must one sick person. I know plenty of meat eaters that would not do anything close to that. You probabaly torture dogs and cats don't you? Sick, sick person
And about the ranting...why are you even in this section unless you want to rant about eating meating...maybe you should get off your high horse! You're making me hungry.

You realize that there are some people who don't find the idea of meat disgusting, and aren't in the least bit put off by the descriptions of slaughterhouses?

That said, I haven't had a McD's burger in years. they changed the recipie and made it unpalatable to me.

Their fries were great too, until the veggies complained.

Edit: Mike H, don't forget the A&W commercial. McD's beef is from New Zeleand. that's the best part of using the Jersey cows in the commercials. America desperately needs reality advertising. I do wish I had been aware of the cruelty to farm animals much sooner than I was. Two commercials that have been bothering me, in addition to the ones you mentioned, are the ones with the hot guy eating a (yuckky) burger from Hardees....ewwww and what about those Happy Cows from California??????? Right
