If Meat were BANNED: Alternatives?!

Question:

If Meat were BANNED: Alternatives?

I am giving a presentation on a pretty impossible topic: I am working for an organisation that want to BAN eating meat in all public places. The idea of the presentation is not the logic, but the quality of the presentation itself.

My task in the presentation is to offer alternatives following the transition to a forced Vegetarian society (other than in the privacy of your own home).

So I ask you: What would be some good alternatives?

So far I've come up with the fact that we'd support and open up vegetarian restaurants and super markets that would provide a wide variety of foods other than meat. If you are the "low-life" that has to consume meat in your own home, you can buy it (rationed and by prescription, of course) only from our supermarkets.

Any more ideas? Due tomorrow!
Thanks so much!

Answers: I mean you could include that meat eaters be tagged with a "Scarlet Letter" so the rest of society know who they are and shun them as much as possible. Maybe they can set up shanty's at the edge of town. Geesh. I don't want to live in your world. Sounds like a scary horror movie. RICE, bread, fruits , nuts vegs, fish perhaps,
dairy tofu ,crackers etc I would go with a sort of "meat kills" and "Its for the protection of your children" theme.

Of course, after finishing this ridiculous assignment I would go out and have myself a nice juicy hamburger. ;) what?! meat is one of our food groups, we HAVE to have at least a little bit of meat in our diets to sustain a healthy lifestyle, its one of the most important food groups, you cant just take it away and replace it with half arsed alternatives. Well um..........there is room for all of God's creatures....right next to the peas and carrots. But anywho I would have to say they'd have to follow the whole garden burger thing and make different versions to simulate meat, but a serious one would be to genetically alter nuts and legumes to increase size, one huge roasted peanut sounds better than a bowl of little ones. It would mean the end of the world if they ban meat!! soy, legumes, nuts, whole grains, vegetables. plants have the same essential amino acids as animals, just in differing degrees. if meat were banned the number of murders would rise as people would kill each other so they can feast on gourmet human flesh. Convince George Bush that eating meat is a Islamic plot to destroy America. He would then amend the Patriot Act allowing all law enforcement agencies to come into every home and establishment without cause and confiscate all meat. He would then go on tv and convince all the idiots who believed his BS in the first place that eating meat is unpatriotic and you are un American if you eat meat. how about opening more places for animals other than just for to be eaten such as for playing or for petting etc. it might create awareness options that animals dont have to or arent only for being eaten. soya meal makers, cottage cheese, fish r good alternatives. the alternative is simple: instead of ranching animals we would grow more crops. the public consumption of meat wouldnt need to be banned, it simply would not be available in large enough quantities to be a viable part of peoples diets. the result of which would decrease the amount of methane gas produced by livestock, thus lessoning the trend of global warming. In addition, the process of feeding an animal, and then eating the meat that the animal produces as it grows is approximately 1 tenth as efficient as simply eating the food you would give the animal yourself, so in such a society issues involved in overpopulation and sustainability of resources consumed would improve and allow for the long term success of humanity. In short this is not a dystopia of policing and closeted meat eating, it is a utopia of progress for mankind and its relation to the planet earth. If you are a vegan but like the taste of meat, a perfect alternative are Portobello Mushrooms. They taste just like a juicy steak. not dog stands/vendors with rolls, ketchup, mustard, onion, etc.

vegetarian bakery.

dairy free dessert trucks for the kids, like the Good Humor ice cream trucks.
