Fast Food and feeling guilty?!
Fast Food and feeling guilty?
I am a vegetarian who eats a Bigmac every now and again. I have heard though, that the fries are now cooked in healthy oil. Does that mean I can get a Biggie fry and not feel guilty?
Oh, and before you say that I'm not Vegetarian, I was just kidding about the Big Mac part (:....But I know you were getting ready to "put" me in my place, weren’t you....Awww come on admit it,... you were just dieing to write to me, that I was not a Veg....Ha! Fooled you.
Cheers
Answers: I'm a vegetarian. I only eat chicken!!!!
lol...just kidding;) Nah, don't feel guily unless your butt swells up or your belly hangs over. Yeah you can eat the fries. They cook them in vegetable oil or something similar Fast food is alright now and then, but what's the question??/
oh yeah, don't feel guilty, it's cool w/ me!
:) What's your question exzacly? Nope. Fried food is still fried food. Although it may not have transfat, but it is still high temp oil and it will clog your arteries. Omnivours rock. The fries are coated in animal fat at the processing plant then fried onsite in vegetable oil.
Yum! if you're just going to mcdonalds to eat french fries, then that's fine as far as the vegan thing. if you want healthy though, Wendy's uses the healthiest oil and not as much salt as mcdonalds and burger king. I agree with Jessica!
What are you trying to ask? Curious Gal, Omnivours rock?
Perhaps if you learned how to spell that term correctly you might rock! If theloverofwords is true about the healthy oil french fry thing at Wendy's then you should start going there instead.
But they're french fries, I mean c'mon, think about it. They even have the word "fry" in it. Would you think eating a big 'ole cup of little strings of potatoes that are fried and submerged in a whole tank of oil [even if it was healthy] be good for yourself?
I mean they're practically just a solid from of grease. There is a *tiny* part of potato in it and that's the *only* part that should not get on your conscience. Maybe you should invest in getting the a smaller size of it maybe. Then you could still have it, just not as much. McDonalds Corp has finally selected a new trans-fat-free oil for cooking its famous french fries after years of testing. While it has developed a healthier new oil, the company is still not saying when it will be used in all 13,700 US restaurants. It already trails competitors in committing to a zero-trans fat oil.
Only you can decide whether to feel guilty or not. If you're referring to McD's, while they do fry their potatoes in 'healthy oil', I don't think they have stopped their practice of adding beef flavoring. So, it wouldn't be vegetarian. Not sure about other fast food chains. You can often tell by the smell. McD fries smell like dead animals. Wendy's smells better. Read the fine print, usually a star beside zero trans fat.
