Do you eat cold cereal? What kind? Im trying to avoid fructose corn syrup...?
And this high fructose corn syrup seems to be in just about *everything* Ugh. What a pain.
Does anyone have suggestions for cold cereals and use soy milk in it?
Answers: check the organic section in your grocery or if you have an organic grocery store, that would be even better. i eat Peanut Butter Bumpers. they are USDA certified organic...no high fructose corn syrup. any USDA organic cereal should not include high fructose corn syrup in its ingredients. All Natural Shredded Wheat.
The Rat You can't avoid fructose corn syrup. It's in everything we *eat*.
I was going to suggest Special K, but that seems to have it too.
How about plain old oat meal and soy? Weetabix
or Bitesize Shredded Wheat, Bran Flakes, All Bran.
It's all good stuff really.
If you don't live in the UK you may not know what they are.. I like the kashi brand cereals, their sweetened with honey and evaporated cane juice crystals (it's not corn syrup), I like the shredded wheat with cinnamon. They list their ingredient on their web page.
http://www.kashi.com/ unsweetened shredded mini wheats or wheatabix I eat quaker oatmeal squares, they come in a few flavors. They also taste good with soymilk or vanilla soymilk.
I know what you mean about high fructose corn syrup I have been avoiding it over 1 year now, at first I was suprised at how many things it was in and how bad it is for you. I eat both Kashi Go Lean Crunch and Heart to Heart. They taste really good and they don't have high fructose corn syrup at all! I strongly recommend them! Nature's promise has some healthy cereals. I eat granolas.
And I don't use soy milk; I use almond milk. Yum!
I'm going to try and make my own granola sometime soon, but it's easy to find brands that are all-natural.
Try Trader Joe's for all kinds of healthy cereals. Whole Foods grocery stores carry cereals without high fructose corn syrup in them.
