Why would anyone eat meat (or dairy); substances that are proven time and time and time again to severely affect the heart and arteries.
Goop in meat clogs your heart tubes folks! Why on earth would anyone take a chance on that, when you only live once?


Answers: Gibby66u, actually your statment is incorrect. Meat eaters have intestinal tracts that are 3 times their body length so that rapidly decaying meat can pass through quickly. Humanes have intestinal tract 10-12 times their body length. Humans have no sharp front teeth, but flat rear molars for grinding. Humans have stomach acid that is 20 times weaker than that of a meat-eater. well-developed salivary glands, which are necessary to pre-digest, grains and fruits (meat eaters do not). Humans have alkaline saliva with ptyalin to pre-digest grains. Meat and seafood putrefies within 4 hours after consumption and the remnants cling to the walls of the stomach and intestines for 3-4 days or longer than if a person is constipated. Furthermore, the reaction of saliva in humans is more alkaline, whereas in the case of flesh-eating or preying animals, it is clearly acidic. The alkaline saliva does not act properly on meat.
Clearly if humans were meant to eat meat we wouldn't have so many crucial ingestive/digestive similarities with animals that are herbivores. So why do we eat meat? People are conditioned to. 1/3 of cancer rates are attributal to what we eat. Meat eaters are 40% more likely to get cancer than vegetarians - regardless of other risks (ie smoking, body size, economic statuc etc. I choose not to fill my body with hormone filled, antibiotic filled, disease filled rotted animal flesh.

As one person once said: "The human body was not designed to catch or eat animals. You have no claws. Your teeth do not rend flesh. Your mouth can not seriously wound nor is it made to really get a good bite into an struggling victim like true carnivores can. You are not fit to run fast to catch prey. Meat-eaters have fast enough reflexes to ambush or overtake a victim. You do not. Try catching a pig or a chicken with your bare hands; see what happens" hunh. that sounds strangely like a rhetorical question.

A vegan diet is certainly NOT the healthiest diet for MANY people. Which is why after trying it, so many people give up on it, because it makes them feel ill. you just answered your own question.... you only live once. why do you think people smoke. it makes them feel good. and eating lean meat occasionally isnt going to kill us As a doctor you must realize that our teeth are not designed like the teeth of herbivores. It is natural for man to eat both meat and veggies. As Saint Atkins said, if eating meat is unnatural, why are prehistoric campsites littered with bones? What were They doing? Using them as letter-openers?

It seems doctors have more knowledge of things the regular population doesn't have. Who ever thought eating food would be harmful. Nobody wants to die, but it will surely come no matter what you do to prevent it. Growing up, we ate plenty of meat on the farm. My parents are elderly and in tip top shape. Neither of them take any medications whatsoever. The five of us children are all middle aged, I guess you could say, and not one of us has any health issues. We are all healthy, athletic, and not one of us takes any medication (other than birth control). My grandparents are still living in their 90's and still live in their home and take total care of themselves. Grandpa doesn't take any medication and Grandma takes a pain pill for arthritis in her hands. I guess I don't see where our lives have been threatened by eating meat...daily...2-3 times per day.
That's 3 generations of healthy meat eaters. According to you we should all be dead.
My extended family were all farmers as well. Most of them lived into their 90's. Quite frankly, living into my 90's will be good enough for me.
And honestly Doctor, even if my life were shortened by a few years because of my eating of meat or fresh churned butter on my bread...I wouldn't change my eating habits or my life on the farm. It's a natural way of life. Please don't knock it. I don't knock on vegetarians. do some research, only if taken in EXCESS is eating meat or dairy or almost anything bad for you. eaten in small amount, a balanced diet in other words, is perfectly healthy. i go to have checkups regularly at my doctor and i have no problems. my grandparents, who are from Finland where meat and fish are dietary staples never seemed to have health related problems. My grandma is still alive, 89 years old and my grandfathers passed away recently at the ripe old age of 103. I dont know.

Meat is gross. So is cheese and real milk.

Yum. :| Anything is good in moderation and that includes meat. We see the effects of nutritional deficiencies in such answers as "bunnygurl". Definitely a B12 and Omega 3 deficiency there. I am a surgeon assistant in a major hospital in Chicago.
You would not believe what I see. I see first hand during by-pass procedures, the sludge that is caked up inside the arteries from an individual who consumes a diet saturated with animal fats. The funny thing? In my entire career of 18 years, I have yet to have had the opportunity, if you can call it that, to have a vegetarian/vegan admitted for such a procedure. Food for thought....
(And I do eat meat by the way) Seriously considering otherwise.
