Question:

Why is a turkey so much adoreded for dinner on thangsgiving?

Answers: Well, I forget the actuall reason...as I asume most do. Something to do with indians and the settlers...but why turkey...not sure.

I tell you what my tofu turkey will be much adorned this year..again. People like to do the same old boring sh*t every year, that is all.

They are also obsessed with it because they are big. because turkey is delicious and besides what would we eat with our cranberry sauce? tofu? i think not It's become a traditon for America. It's now so ingrained into the holiday that even people who still remember why it started in the first place have a difficult time imagining Thanksgiving without it. American tradition really.. my parents are immigrants to the US (citizen's for over 30 years) and we've always celebrated Thanksgiving without turkey. I'm 32 years old and i can honestly say that I've only eaten a Traditional thanksgiving dinner once in my life. This dates back several centuries, when the settlers shot and killed birds in the late autumn and survived their first winter here. Naturally, stupidity, inertia and 'tradition' dictate that this still be done even though there is no dearth of food at any time of the year. I think it's sad, really. They thank God for food by...killing God's own creation? Only a mentally ill God would approve of such killing in his name! because there are wild turkeys and people want to be like indians and eat wild things native to this country. its funny, the last meat i ate was turkey
