How do you prepare/eat kelp raw?!

Question:

How do you prepare/eat kelp raw?

I want to eat some kelp I bought recently and am a raw vegan, so there is no option in cooking it, as this destroys the nutrient content. Are there any ways to prepare it raw, I tried blending it into a powder but its to tough for this. I think it could be soaked, but don't really know much about this.

Thanks, and please do not tell me ways to cook it.

Answers: Wakame and other forms of seaweed are very easy to work with. Some kinds of seaweed take on different flavors and textures. Take some room temp. water and soak the seaweed in it. Let the seaweed reconstitute. It should be pliable after about 5-10 minutes. Drain the seaweed. Now you can use it in the following ways:

*Seaweed salad: Combine in a bowl: 2 C. shredded seaweed, 1/4 C. agar agar(reconstitued), 1/2 tsp.toasted sesame oil, a splash of rice wine vinegar & 1 tsp. of soy sauce/tamari.

*Another way Asians eat seaweed is just to eat it with hot rice. Take a small sheet of prepared nori and wrap it around hot rice.

*You can make sushi rolls with seaweed. kelp is usually dried and needs to be reconstituted....water,rice wine or diluted rice vinegar.......it is a common sushi wrapper....
